Other reviews NOT ACCURATE!!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Tri fold 2'x6' Exercise Mat (Misc.)
I just received two of these mats. Since there is very little description of this product, I relied on the reviews for information and that was a mistake. One reviewer states "No stinky vinyl-- cool!" and that's just not true. The mat is vinyl and smells like vinyl. Another reviewer states "The two inch thickness is a comfortable amount of padding" again, totally false. The mat is 1" thick, not 2" thick, and the dimensions are written on the mat itself. The same reviewer also states "The nylon material is comfortable on my skin". Again, a lie. There is no nylon material on the mat. It is vinyl and sticks to your skin. In conclusion, either some of these reviewers are rating a different product or are in some way connected to the company that makes these mats and are embellishing their reviews. So, I was pretty disappointed with what I received but you get what you pay for and this is the least expensive mat on Amazon.com.

My mat arrived and indeed, it doesn't smell vinyl-y like most of the mats out there. The vinyl ones are probably more sanitary for use by multiple people, but for one-person use, I appreciate not having the stinky off-gassing and being able to just put a towel over the mat if desired for keeping it cleaner. (The roll-up yoga mats are an option too, but this is nice because you can fold it up and lean it against a wall).A note: I wouldn't recommend this as a guest bed/mattress-- just as an exercise mat as advertised-- because the foam is too firm and sort of crunchy-feeling for that use.

The mat quality is very low. The brand is not VIP. They are just the sellers. So don't get surprised if you see another brand PRINTED on the mat that they don't show you here on their picture. Also the mat IS NOT 2" Thick. The actual size is 1 INCH. So take that into consideration before buying this product. Well at the end I returned this mat and got a full refund. So their customer service is good.

For Christmas, we got a Wii Fit Plus. Though many of the exercises require nothing more than a hard floor and the Wii Fit balance board, there are times when an exercise mat would be a nice companion. My wife and I have found this to be perfect for that purpose. The mat seems very durable, and is very comfortable. I would not hesitate to buy another just like it.

Not what I expected,

After reading all the reviews, I thought this would be a good mat for my husband and me either to work out on or to add to our current mat for additional cushioning on the hard wood floor of our house. We both have back trouble and use a mat for stretching. This mat turned out to be one inch thick and so hard that we might as well work out on the floor itself than on it alone; it's no better than a typical roll-up yoga mat. It certainly has no cushioning to add to our current mat. I'm very disappointed, and from now on I will assume negative reviews are more accurate than positive ones.

I recently purchased this product and it is horrible-it is so hard they should have named the product "Cement In A Sack"-even my tile floor is softer than this. I regret buying this and will never use it.

Excellent Mat! Used for P90X Ab Ripper X,

I was looking for a sufficient mat to use with the Ab Ripper X workout of P90X and I am glad I purchased this. Realistically, any yoga mat will do, but any extra support for your tailbone is fine in my opinion. The mat has just the right amount of cushion, and even though it's thick padding, you will not sink into the floor while on the mat. Great buy! Highly recommended.

Awesome mat - don't be afraid of the good price,

This mat performs a lot like a very expensive gym mat. It is not too squishy, and it is not too thin. I use it on hardwood floors and it's better than carpet that has the padding underneath (u can feel the slate under that on carpet if u do enough situps - this mat transfers none of that).I've seen other mats on amazon in the same dimensions that were 2x as much. Don't bother. This one is really good. The one drawback I would say is that it doesn't have the velcro joiners so you can't attach another mat to it to make a larger surface. That being said I guess I wish it were wider, but then again neither are any of the other mats in the same category. Rather than spending 4x as much for a double-wide mat I'd rather just buy two of these and take my chances that the weight of them would keep them in place, or that I could rig something. Price-wise that'd work out really well.

I work out on the lower level of my split-level house, and the floor, while carpeted, is very hard. When doing floor exercises on my knees, I recently started to feel some discomfort and decided it was time to invest in a quality mat. After reading the reviews on Amazon, I settled on this one, and I'm very satisfied with my purchase. The tri-fold style makes it a snap to put away after use, and the mat is thick enough and large enough to make my floor work comfortable.
