I carry these in my car just in case as a backup for my family. The kids usually use them to communicate with me. Works just fine and range is good. One problem did crop up and that is that one of the radios does not beep when it powers up or down. This is kind of irritating since you have to look at the LCD screen to see when you turn it on or off.

I have tried dozens of two ways from Cobra, Midland, and other manufacturers. I use these for paintball and general communication in dense woods. I already had the VOX headsets from a previous purchase of these same radios. Paired together, they form a great radio system that is accurate and clear in dense woods up to 1000 yds, and while you are running while being shot at.

Range is good (about 2 miles). Clarity is GREAT. Even at the max range we tried, it was very much clearer than our old Motorola 2 way. The vast choice oc channels makes it unlikely for interference. Price for the quality is excellent.
