I love this book, my daughter and I had so much fun creating different optical patterns and effects. She loves drawing and being creative and this book just added to that passion.

The specs for this say ages 4-8. I think that anyone younger than 12 or so would find this extremely difficult. In this book there are plenty of pages to color accompanied with a step by step guide on how to draw the shapes in the book. The optical illusion part comes from having a three dimensional shape that can only exist on a 2 dimensional plane. These are called to as 'irrational' shapes.
If you want this just for the coloring parts then that's fine, but there is more to this than just coloring pictures. You might want to order yourself a pad of isometric graph paper so you can doodle with the lines and see if you like it. Just so you know isometric graph paper has triangles on it instead of squares. You can order it here on amazon :) |
