A well done method to open ears to triad pairs, good for beginners and intermediate students.

Going through they appear quite repetitive and show their limit: in my opinion Mr. Campbell could close the issue shortly with much less pages.

I love this book. It presents the idea of using triad pair patterns in a clear and simple way that allows for some sophisticated new additions to one's solos. It also gives one pause with regard to applying this thinking to other scales and modes (different from the ones presented in the book). It is concise efficient with the text as well - no extraneous commentary. I highly recommend it and will use it in my teaching.

This is a great addition to the jazz players knowledge of theory. The book I purchased was missing several pages. I contacted Alfred and they immediately sent out another replacement copy.

Triads and triad pairs are a great way to deal with both simple and complex harmony. Mr Campbell's book is a great overview of how to extract triad pairs from common scales and use them over different harmonic settings. The book features a range of triad pairs, some very inside and some much spicier sounding. Triad pairs are an important sound in modern improvisation and this book is one of the best introductions you will find.
