In this riveting tale of the Old West, Gibby Brand is a natural. Although Brand doesn't use a variety of voices, his inflection and tone draw an amazing picture. He makes you see the characters as they would have appeared a hundred years ago. You see Billy Peale as a tall, slim, good-natured cowboy. Ruth becomes a winsome young lady with a will of iron and an undying love for Billy. Gibby Brand has a natural sounding Western drawl, and he becomes a believable storyteller. Author Overholser can be proud that such an impassioned voice was chosen to read his fine work. M.R.P. (c) AudioFile, Portland, Maine
