Book Description

December 5, 2003 Triangle Histories of the Revolutionary War: Leaders
The Battles, the Leaders, the Presidents - And How Their Paths Intertwined

Triangle Histories introduce a new concept for American history series. Each title interweaves, intersects, and overlaps with others in its own unique way. And each title provides a different perspective on the broad subject at hand.

Because the Triangle Histories provide a format in which major subjects and themes can be considered from various angles, each collection offers a truly multi-dimensional way to learn and understand more completely. Though each book stands alone, as a set the Revolutionary War collection forms a powerful and engaging way in which to learn about one of the greatest struggles our country has ever endured.

Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 6-9–Ingram argues that King George was not the all-powerful, distant monarch that the Colonists thought he was. Instead, his authority was often undermined by unscrupulous advisers or other royals, and the decisions that riled the Colonists were made by Parliament, not by the king. Avoiding a dry recitation of historical facts, the author brings out the personal aspects of the conflict without fictionalizing. The book reads well as biography or history, with lots of black-and-white and full-color pictures, reproductions, and sidebars to break up the text. A solid, well-organized choice.–Linda Beck, Indian Valley Public Library, Telford, PA

"Each volume includes a lengthy preface summarizing the highlights of the war followed by an epilogue. Full color and black and white reproductions of famous British, French, and Colonial heroes, as well as maps of the respective battle appear in each book."
