This novelation of The SF Channel's Miniseries is a mixed bag of good things and bad things. Despite it faults it is still a quick read, this is the type of book that one would read when are tried of reading the current novel that you are on and want to take a break in reading it. This is what I did.

The first thing that a reader of this novel has to get over is the type of point of view that this novel is told in, mostly first person limited and the author tell the story through the point of view of Howard Thomas, the cynical tabloid news reporter. Now, if you didn't mind or even like this charactar then you wouldn't mind reading it, if you didn't like him, then I wouldn't suggest reading the novel.

This brings up some of the faults in the novel, snice it is mostly told in frist person, some of the events that are done decently in the Miniseries aren't in the novel or are completely gloss over, I.e. the interrogation scenes. Which in the miniseries last longer and shows each charactar's reaction to it, but in the novel, snice it is told in Thomas's point of view, it only foucs on his interrogation scene and because of that scene goes way to fast, it should of last a little bit longer.

While the first person point view hurts some scenes, it helps others. Like the fact that snice the author choice to tell the story via Thomas's point of view, and because of that it goes a little deeper into the complex nature of the Howard Thomas charactar. How at the being of the novel he never thought that he would be a beliver in all of the things and did the things that he did in the novel/Miniseries. It also expands on the fact that Thomas charactar really does know his Triangle stuff and in fact there is a little game that he plays with Stan throughout the novel, which he calls "Triangle Trivia".

I give this novel four stars, because I like the Howard Thomas charactar and how the novel went a little deeper into his head. I would like the idea that the author didn't go for the frist person point of view, but went to the thrid person point of view, it could of been better if he went that way.
