Trying too much, too fast, October 5, 2004
This review is from: Triathlon for Youth: A Healthy Guide to Competition (Paperback)
I bought this book used and found PART of it useful (the part for how to treat different aches and pains). The first 1/2 of the book is dedicated to "how to train for an ironman." I didn't really read that part, but she's not even a triathlete herself, nor really qualified to disseminate a training plan (reputable training plans, or a live coach would be MUCH more useful). It just seems like she was trying to fill the pages or something.
As for the muscle parts, the information is very useful, but could be better organized, and there are MANY MANY typos. It does not appear that this book passed through the hands of an editor. This newer edition may be better, but she'd have been far smarter to create a smaller book based on what she knows--physical therapy, stretching and massage. That's the useful nugget, and was helpful.
