3.0 out of 5 stars So so CD helps a good cause, January 13, 2008

This review is from: Tribal Futures: The Way Ahead (Audio CD)
This CD has aboriginal chants over a techno soundtrack - not a terribly new concept; Deep Forest did it more than a decade ago. But at least the profits from this CD go to Survival International, an NGO dedicated to the protection of the threatened hunter-gatherer peoples around the world. So even though I wasn't terribly impressed by the CD, at least it helps a very good cause.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Music Industry 'gives something back' to tribal peoples, February 1, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Tribal Futures: The Way Ahead (Audio CD)
Tribal Futures: The Way Ahead is the first of it's kind. I found out the other day that it was in fact released under Survival International's label 'Yombo'. Survival is a charity supporting tribal peoples rights and they decided to release a trance/dub album to promote awareness of the cause.

The album is unique and beautiful. It has a mix of smooth tunes and stompers. The tribal sampling is great! There is also a rare Leftfield mix on the list.
