5.0 out of 5 stars "THIS KNOWLEDGE WILL COME TO YOU..."
You must be quiet to understand the beauty in this Treasure. Quiet inside yourself. Every inch of you, every cell, every fiber of your being. I have owned this a long time and haven't fully appreciated it until now. Why? Because I wasn't truly listening. To listen you must slow down, come to a stop, be calm and OPEN. Now and only now, can you Listen. Oh Yes. Eyes...

The music is very POWERFUL. Its power is so subtle that I didn't comprehend it at first. Now I do. The Indians deserve our respect. They are in touch with their Spirits.

I leave you with a quote from "Wind In My Mind" which epitomizes the essence of TRIBAL WINDS:

"I ONCE SAT ON A HILL AND AS I GAZED ACROSS THE LAND

I HEARD A SONG ON THE WIND

I TURNED AND WATCHED THE PRAIRIE GRASSES MOVE TO THE RHYTHM

NOT JUST TO ONE SONG--BUT TO MANY

AS I FOCUSED ON THE HORIZON I REALIZED I WAS HEARING THE SONGS

OF ALL TIME

I WAS LISTENING TO TRIBAL WINDS."

Soar my friends. This will aid you in your journey. My Highest recommendation to the Seekers. TRIBAL WINDS is a FIND.
SOARING HEART

5.0 out of 5 stars A gorgeous tribute to the Native American flute, April 10, 2001
This review is from: Tribal Winds: Music From Native American Flutes (Audio CD)
I have always listened to First Nations music and from the very beginning was captivated by the Native American flute. Its sound was nature itself; a combination of a soaring hawk, the wind whispering through night pines and birches, the melancholy cry of the loon, the lone wolf howling at the moon. Various styles, phrasings, techniques, and types of flutes are used here.

I have just recently started playing the Native American flute, and listening to songs from "Tribal Winds" gave me ideas on where to start with my own compositions and gave me new tunes to practice. This collection perfectly demonstrates the various voices and emotions that a skilled flautist can bring to the music.

"Tribal Winds" captures that breathless moment as the artist puts the silent flute to his lips and then spins the first notes of the tune. It is the story of the land, a story of sorrow and triumph.

If you seek peace in your life, this music can help you along your journey.

5.0 out of 5 stars No words to describe, August 31, 2005
This review is from: Tribal Winds: Music From Native American Flutes (Audio CD)
There are really no other proper words to describe the music on this CD other than to say THE BEST. Haunting, melodious, peaceful, and it brings you a step closer to nature regardless of whether you are sitting inside a room or in your car while listening to the CD. I've become a fan of the Native American culture ever since I heard their flute music for the first time. This CD is packed with melodious and haunting sounds of their flutes, the low frequency sounds of their drums which sound like thunder, and to top them all of with a good sprinkling of the chirping of birds and the shrieking sounds of the soaring eagles. The first song "Creator's Prayer" gives you an idea of what to expect in the rest of the CD. Simply the best. The more I listen to the CD, the more addicted I get to the subtle sounds of nature which I miss while leading a city life filled with highway noise, cop car sirens, and tv mumbo jumbos.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!, December 30, 2004
This review is from: Tribal Winds: Music From Native American Flutes (Audio CD)
Absolutely beautiful! I just wish the CD was longer. The songs just carry me away to a peaceful place (especially the first one). I listen to it about every morning when I wake up; that's how good it is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Leave the industrial world behind, and come home..., September 10, 1998
This review is from: Tribal Winds: Music From Native American Flutes (Audio CD)
This CD contains not only an echo of a time in our nation's history when nature was only as far away as your outstretched arm, but an invitation to a state of mind all too often lost in our modern-day hustle and bustle with computers and taxis and finances. The differing flute-playing styles and levels of technological assistance help emphasize the timeless nature of the featured and deceptively simple instrument. I don't know what purists might think of the mixture of old and new, but the blend of modern familiar and ancient mysteries forms the basis of my fascination with this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is pure and deep, like fresh spring water., September 27, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Tribal Winds: Music From Native American Flutes (Audio CD)
If you have sat by a fire in the woods and stilled yourself to listen to the mystery of nature sing around you, you will understand the heart of this music. If you have NEVER sat by a campfire, you will be informed by this music. Woodsmoke, the rustle of damp leaves, and the crisp bite of winter air will tap at your consciousness. I have introduced this CD to half a dozen friends and each of them are as pleased with it as I am. This is no new age exploitation, this is just a pure drink of spring water--not bottled but cupped to your mouth with chapped, earth-working hands. Drink deep.
