5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful citrus juicer
This juicer is great for citrus - lemons, limes, oranges. Easy to use and easy to clean. Most important....when you press down on the fruit, the motor keeps going and you get every last drop of juice. The motor does not stop as you add pressure, like many juicers. This one is powerful enough to do a great job!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not if you like pulp.
The Citristar juicer does its basic job okay - a powerful motor turns the reamer and it juices the fruit quickly and thoroughly - not quietly, but less noisily than many other juicers. The stainless steel screen is designed to filter out pulp and deliver a pulp-free juice, but enough pulp comes through into the bowl so that the spout valve clogs and the juice stops...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not if you like pulp., December 30, 2010

The Citristar juicer does its basic job okay - a powerful motor turns the reamer and it juices the fruit quickly and thoroughly - not quietly, but less noisily than many other juicers. The stainless steel screen is designed to filter out pulp and deliver a pulp-free juice, but enough pulp comes through into the bowl so that the spout valve clogs and the juice stops flowing into your glass. The juice collects in the bowl, which itself doesn't have a pouring spout, so it's difficult to pour the collected juice into your glass. We like some pulp in our juice, but there's no adjustment on this juicer to allow for this. I modified the screen, probably invalidating any warranty, so we get some pulp, but it's still awkward to deal with because the bowl doesn't have a pour spout.

The box says "dishwasher safe" but the manual says "hand wash" - I believe the manual. Lots of parts to wash: 2 nesting reamers (large for oranges and small for lemons), the screen, the screen hub, the bowl, which includes a spout valve that opens for cleaning.

Still waiting for the perfect juicer for our preferences.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, December 29, 2007

I bought this item for my mom for Christmas. It was shipped quickly to my house. This juicer is powerful, so when you apply more force it doesn't stop. It's an amazing juicer. I highly recomend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Flaw in the design, January 27, 2011

I've had two of these juicers. They do a much better job at extracting juice than others I've had. But there is a flaw in the design. The "weak link" in the product is the spout. The spout has a spring clip that allows you to close the opening when, say, changing glasses. However, after being used daily for a month or so, the spout begins to pop off the very small and weak plastic hinge pins in the spout and the receiver for the pegs in the bottom of the juice collector. Then, the spring clip weakens as well and all to soon you find yourself trying to put the spout, which begins to fall out each time it's used, back in place when it was designed not to be removed at all. Finally the spout will no longer stay in place and can no longer be reattached. At that point, although the rest of the juicer is fine, you have to throw the whole thing away because of the badly designed 5 cent part.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great citrus juicer at a great price!, August 25, 2009
This review is from: Tribest Citristar Electric Citrus Juicer (Kitchen)
I did my research before buying, instead of buying on brand name recognition alone (I had not heard of Tribest). I am so glad I found this machine! The design is simple yet elegant, the motor is strong--50W-85W, cleanup is extremely easy, and the price is right. Operation couldn't be easier: no on/off switch, just plug it in, press the fruit down on the reamer, and the power is there in the amount you need. A great machine! [...]. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Juicer, some issues with Warranty, March 10, 2011
This review is from: Tribest Citristar Electric Citrus Juicer (Kitchen)
Juicer worked perfectly for almost a year, then got an issue that after squeezing a couple of oranges, would stop working and would need a "restart" (unplug from the wall and replug).

Spent 50% of the juicer value just to ship it back to manufacturer, which said can't reproduce the issue and just sent the broken juicer back, and suggested I'm stupid by squeezing the oranges too hard, which is not even related to the issue.

At this point, I'd say I really loved the product while it worked, but once support was necessary, got very disappointed with the service I received.

EDIT: After escalating the issue, Tribest was kind enough to send me a new fully functional unit, so I'm happy with the outcome.

Excellent product and very durable. Even my husband would have difficulty breaking this one (like he did my last one).

5.0 out of 5 stars SIMPLY INCREDIBLE, December 3, 2008
This review is from: Tribest Citristar Electric Citrus Juicer (Kitchen)
This Tribest CitriStar Juicer is THE BEST you can find. It has an incredibly powerful rotator that will get all of the pulp and juice out of your fruit. It's very easy to clean and my wife and I have used it and are VERY HAPPY. I also have a Tribest Blender and I can tell you that Tribest makes the best products hands-down. Visit their website!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Broken, January 29, 2010

I bought this juicer six months ago. Only complaint, it's heavy going from storage shelf to counter. Otherwise, performance is fantastic, makes it an easy job to juice four oranges in the morning and easy to clean.

Recently it started to act up, it would start and stop when juicing. It appeared that the start contact pressing down on the orange would go on and off. Then it started to run continuously when connected to the electrical outlet, better than start and stop. Now it is dead and no longer juicing. Contacted Amazon, was told to e-mail the supplier Alive and Aware regarding my problems, no response.

It's crazy, but this juicer is so good when it works I plan to replace it with a new one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Right juicer for the right person., April 24, 2011

I rated this 4 stars not because it is the best juicer on the market, but it is a great juicer for me. When I read reviews for this type of product I always wonder how the user intends to use it. Are they using it once a month when they come home from the farmer's market with a bunch of oranges? Do they use it everyday because they have an orange tree in the yard? Do they run a bed a breakfast and are making gallons of juice every morning? If you are the latter, this isn't the juicer for you. If you are making juice for a couple of people every morning, this would be a good pick.

The first juicer I owned was one of the $14 Proctor Silex models. I doubt that I ever got $14 worth of juice out of it before it broke. I figured this was the next step up in quality. So far it seems to work well for me. As other reviews have written, it is quiet, powerful, and efficient and easy to clean. As for negative reviews, I would agree with others that the spout design is a little lacking. You are able pivot the spout up so that you can stop the flow of juice. There is a little rubber stopper that fits up into the hole in the tray that seals it off. Unfortunately, even when the spout is down, the stopper is still in the hole and because the hole is pretty small, it tends to get fouled easily. I've found this pretty easily resolved by simply pressing down slightly on the spout which starts it flowing again. Not that big of a deal for a 2 glass a day juicer.

I think this is a great middle of the road juicer for the right person. If your like me and found it hard to justify a $100 juicer, then give this one a try.
