4.0 out of 5 stars To Better Health!, February 1, 2005
This juicer definitely produced the best juice. Put cool veggies and fruit in from the frig and get cool juice out, and the quality is outstanding. We have been juicing now for a month and we feel so much better. Because of the energy I get from the juice in the mornings, I was actually able to quick drinking coffee! While one of the other reviewers was correct in that this juicer does take up some counter space, the parts are definitely not made cheaply - at least on our model (the Green Star 3000). After all the junk that is being made these days, this machine is made of quality parts, and is actually a little bit heavy (but it has a nice handle).

We love our machine. We love having the best possible product coming out of our machine. The only drawback, and it is a slight one, it that the machine does take a few minutes to clean, and should be cleaned immediately after use. The parts are good quality, strong and durable, but not for use in a dishwasher (according to the manuafacturer.) If it were not for this, I would have given it five stars easily.

One hint: Plan you juicing ahead of time. Because the machine takes 4-5 minutes (for two people) to clean, and because of the quality of the product (the magnets and low speed and low heat which does allow the juice to remain fresh longer) we usually juice enough for two mornings at a time (for two adults). All told, between cutting up the veggies and fruit, the actual juicing, and cleaning up,it takes about 20 minutes every other day. This may seem a little long just for juicing, but for our health, it is way worth it!!

I had my GreenStar for four years. I juiced from 8-13 juices a day and it kept running. It was much cheaper than the Norwalk juicer and probably a lot easier to clean with less steps involved in juicing, although the pulp was not as dry as it could be. I decided to try the Super Angel mainly because it was impossible to clean the Green Star. The plastic pieces are stained and it looks pretty awful (but remember 4 years of daily juicing!) since the Super Angel 3500 is made entirely of stainless steel. The Green Star is around $450 and the Super Angel is $800 so you are paying more. But here are the differences: SA much easier to put together- 3 parts vs GS at 7. SA much quieter. SA much easier to clean and sterilize (you can put stainless steel in dishwasher but not the GS with its plastic). Finally, the pulp is drier with the SA meaning you are extracting more vitamins and minerals and buying less produce. I haven't had the SA long so I don't know if it has the staying power of the GS but I'm extremely happy with the results. If you can afford it I would suggest the SA. It would probably have made up the difference in cost with the produce I was juicing fairly quickly (at 8-13 juices a day). I started juicing after I was dx with clear cell ovarian cancer. I was very serious about juicing but didn't think I would be able to consistently juice with the Norwalk (too hard & time consuming). Although I haven't used a Norwalk (I have seen videos on how to juice with it) I don't think you could get any more juice from the SA pulp and the SA is a lot cheaper than the Norwalk, which at the last time I looked into it was running around $2000..
But back to the Greenstar: I have to say for the money the GS was a faithful worker but terrible to clean. Since Amazon doesn't sell the Super Angel I goggled it and order it from another site. I've ordered hundreds of items, books, gifts, etc. from Amazon and I would have liked to order the Super Angel 3500 from them but they didn't carry it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Juicer, Great Price!, June 29, 2004
By A Customer
I'm a big fan of the Green Star 3000. It was easy to set up and use straight out of the box! The best thing about this juicer is the juice that comes out of it. It's never heated up and always tastes fresh. I used to have another juicer that I barely used because the juice coming out of it was always warm and tasted bad. With the Green Star, my juice is always the same temperature as my produce, so I know I'm getting all of the goodness my produce has to offer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Green Star Juicer, May 3, 2006
I've used centrifugal juicers for over 10 years. They are good machines but upgraded to a Green Star recently.

The machine is heavy duty and appears well made.

I get about 1/3 more juice with this machine than with my current centrifugal juicer, (i.e., L'Equip standard sized machine). The pulp is drier.

The juice tastes very good. I drink the juice immediately so I don't know about storing it, etc.

Clean up takes a little longer but is very easy.

I can't think of any bad things to say. It definitely does a much better job with greens than the centrifugal machine. This is a solid juicer IMHO.

Also, it makes very good frozen sorbets like strawberries, blueberries, etc. (Another reason I upgraded from the centrifugal juicer.)

I recommend this juicer.

2.0 out of 5 stars It can't be this difficult, November 29, 2009

This review is from: Tribest Green Star 3000 Deluxe Juicer/Juice Extractor (Kitchen)
I am a diehard juicer. I have been doing it since the mid 1990's and could write a book about the benefits of juicing. I've went many of the centrifugal juicers and settled on a Champion juicer in the late 1990's. I used it happily for many years. Earlier this year I decided to get a new juicer and wanted the "best" I had visions of nut butters, pasta, not to mention the wheatgrass juice. Anyway, I have to say this is the hardest juicer I have EVER had to try to clean. I worked and worked to get the itty bitty parts clean, finally leaving everything soaking in the kitchen sink and then begging my husband to help with his added upper body strength. Also, the juice itself was not the greatest. Very foamy and I had to enlist my hubbie AGAIN to help me get veggies and such down the chute and through the auger. It does NOT juice fruit without a fight. I sold it and am getting an Omega 8006. I have a friend that has an 8005 and I have had the pleasure of using hers and drinking the wonderfully clear juice it produces. SO I would suggest you save your money and get either a Champion or an Omega. Happy Juicing!!

greatest juicer for the money on the market BUT it won't do tomatoes! The seeds jam the filter and kaput on the tomatoe juice! Otherwise, the juicer is superb and built like a rock. tom s.

3.0 out of 5 stars not all it's cracked up to be., October 17, 2010
This review is from: Tribest Green Star 3000 Deluxe Juicer/Juice Extractor (Kitchen)
I bought this juicer to juice leafy greens. I had read at least a hundred reviews on various websites and everybody seemed to give this juicer two thumbs up in the juicing leafy greens department. but it was said That it didn't juice fruits very well. I thought ok that's cool. All I want it for is to get the most out of my green. but I came to find out that it doesn't do a very good job at all juicing Collard Greens or Kale. Those are the main 2 I wanted to juice. I don't care what screen you use (fruit or vegetable) or what knob you use on this juicer and how much you tighten or loosen it,(the control knob) it just won't work. You'll get a lot of pulp an unbelievable amount of foam and very little juice. It does a good job with broccoli (the stalk). It does an ok job with parsley and cilantro. but greens and kale O.M.G (Oh My Gosh)NO! I never tried wheat grass. I found that it does an excellent job on apples, oranges, carrots and celery. But that's not what i bought it for. Anyway I wish someone had told me what I'm telling you all before I paid almost $500.00 for the GS3000. But 2 years after the fact i found "GSEjuicer vs. Angle part 2" on YouTube. The E in GSE stands for Elite and it has the same problem as the older model. go to youtube and type in the above if you want to see for yourself. you have to double click the video window with the explanation of why it won't play.

Update Oct 11 2011. I just checked YouTube and that video (GSEjuicer vs. Angle part 2) isn't there any more. Sorry... I guess it was making Green Star look to bad so they got euJuicers.com to take that "Juice Off" down. they do another one but the GSE is called "The Juicer with the Gray Star" they didn't dare put it up against the Angle juicer again. and it's censored to hell. but if you still want to see it.... the video is called "Greenpower Kempo vs. Juicer with the gray star part 2". The leafy greens part is 5 minutes into the video.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tribest Green Star 3000 Deluxe Juicer/Juice Extractor, January 1, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Tribest Green Star 3000 Deluxe Juicer/Juice Extractor (Kitchen)
I purchased the Juicer as a gift. He seems to use it very often almost daily. It is easy to clean. The only downfall is that you have to put your juicier fruits through the juicer first.

5.0 out of 5 stars Built like a tank, great value, August 22, 2011
By
This review is from: Tribest Green Star 3000 Deluxe Juicer/Juice Extractor (Kitchen)
I greatly enjoy this device. There isn't anything it can't juice. It is very smartly designed and allows you to completely clean it with all of it's removable parts. There are different filters for the amount of pulp you like. There are even pasta extruders for it! No joke - it is well designed for this purpose as well. The quality of parts means that it completely juices your fruits and vegetables but it also is fairly heavy and bulky. I have no trouble moving it off the counter once it has been cleaned to put it away but some people may find it cumbersome.

The overall quality of the design is very high. It took me a few tries with various veggies to figure out the best art of feeding it and getting the pulp to separate from the juice but once you figure it out it is a snap. The manual is well written.

I got mine used so I paid a lot less for it but it is worth the asking price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Have Had This Juicer for Approx. 5 Years Now, June 7, 2011
By
Elizabeth Blue "Karuna" (Greater Wichita Area, Kansas United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tribest Green Star 3000 Deluxe Juicer/Juice Extractor (Kitchen)
This is a review for this juicer, not this vendor (I purchased it elsewhere on the internet). I have had this juicer for approximately 5 years. It extracts a great deal of juice from all kinds of vegetables and fruits and uses bioceramic technology within the gears themselves. The gears turn slowly and do not generate heat, thus preserving the nutrients better. I generally juice a combination of the following: carrots, celery, kale, beets, tomatoes, ginger, and red or yellow peppers. The resulting juice tastes like a much fresher, lower-sodium version of V-8 juice (although it looks unappetizing, it tastes wonderful). I have developed a fairly quick clean-up method: I put the parts in a large stainless bowl of water in the sink immediately after juicing, and let them soak while I drink the juice. Then i simply rinse everything with hot water and put the parts in a dish drainer beside the sink. The mesh screen requires scrubbing with a brush and that may take about a minute. There are about 8 parts to clean. You HAVE to do this almost immediately or the pulp dries on everything and it is difficult to remove. However, if you clean the parts right away the pulp simply rinses off. I have had several other types of juicers and this one has worked the best and has lasted the longest. It is pricey, but compared to the price of drinks in a juice bar (or vitamins) it is not that bad since it lasts a long time and is very reliable. You just have to think of it as a major appliance (similar to a stove or dishwasher) rather than a kitchen gadget. One caveat: after 5 years I am replacing the gears as the nylon parts are not as durable as the stainless steels ones. However, I consider this to come under the category of "routine maintenance" and not something that is wrong with the machine itself. I strongly recommend juicing for its health benefits. The juicers that only do fruits give you juices that are very sweet. This juicer allows you to include leafy green vegetables, cruciferous vegetables, root vegetables, etc. which are not necessarily foods that we eat a lot of every day. I find that I feel a lot better when I use this juicer and I highly recommend it. I also recommend any of the highly rated juicing books available here on amazon.
