Now abiding in christ,
By R. Allen (NH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tribulation Force: An Experience in Sound and Drama (Left Behind #2) (Audio Cassette)
I always considered myself a good Christian, until i read this book. This series has led me to re-evaluated my relationship with christ and now amidst many non believrs I sit here idly calling myself reborn. This book will make anyone do the same. As for people not raised in the church it proves as great fiction but for all of us who are raised in the church this series will bring new meaning to your faith.

Dramatic Audio Version,
By A Customer
This review is from: Tribulation Force: An Experience in Sound and Drama (CD audio) (Audio CD)
These are terrific CD's! I just want to note that most of the reviews here are dealing with the books or the books on tape (one voice reading the book). These CD's are actually live action dramatic versions, actors for each character, music, sound effects, etc. Like old time radio but with a blockbuster sound.

Left Behind - A Driver's Perspective,
By Thelma R. Allcock (Connecticut) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tribulation Force: An Experience in Sound and Drama (Left Behind #2) (Audio Cassette)
I listened to this entire book in my car while commuting to work, and in between sales calls. I often found that I was not able to get out of the car because it was so spellbinding. Many times, I was frustrated to find that I did not have a bible handy to follow up with some of the scripture that was quoted. Although this book has a heavy religious overtone, I would not say that it is a religious book. There is a clear story here, told in glorious detail that allows you to visualize every page. The author is a master of leaving you wanting more. Anyone who is looking for a deeper religious meaning will be able to find it if they choose so, but it can easily be enjoyed by the nonreligious. I heartily recommend this book. The subject is fascinating, the characters are realistic, and the writing style is easy, and enjoyable. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this wonderful saga.

I have been a fan of the Left Behind Series, and I have read the books. I have also listened to several of the audio books on tape, but found that the level of interest was heightened on this new "experience in sound and drama" CD version. The use different voices and sound effects kept my attention. It is a very easy way to follow the story line. I have purchased more of these dramatizations and would recommend this version as either a first step to getting into the series or as another aid to those who are already Left Behind readers.

The why's of World Mission explained but stop the whining.,
This review is from: Tribulation Force: An Experience in Sound and Drama (CD audio) (Audio CD)
This production lags in no way behind the first of the series but the 4 CD set starts to annoy me in some ways. Is it me, or is Chloe really developing in a more childish direction. While the book portrays her as a mature, though young, woman set to a task considered impossible, she appears whining all through the CD's. I'm also slightly annoyed by what the books describe as a perfect English-speaking Nicolae Carpathia - the Antichrist - while he continues, and perhaps further develops, a fake Eastern European accent, which in no way is helped by gloomy soundbites of his speeches (no politician would ever get elected sounding like this). Loose the whining and the accent, and the characters are all perfect. Both the book and the CD propose a stunning theory. While one may have wondered how 144.000 Jews will come out of Israel as witnesses in the end days, this title turns the problem around. They do not come out of Israel, but from the world to Israel. Stunning. Maybe this explains why so many Jews still live abroad while the Bible clearly speaks about their returning to Israel in vast numbers (though no contradiction). They don't have to learn the languages to become missionaries, they already speak them. And, being influenced not only by the Jewish and secular cultures in Israel, they would also be well equipped to interact with foreign cultures, thus explaining the vast growth of believers worldwide in this book (and the follow-ups). But whining aside, "Sign me up for all the CD's," as said in the review of the first CD book.

I could not press the stop button, GAP digital's rendition is awesome! All the characters are really done, I disagree with those who said Nicole's voice is no good, it's excellent,Chloe's voice is also perfect. I'm gonna keep buying them.

Tribulation Force must be read along with the rest of the series. It really puts life into perspective for a person, and makes them look at their relationship with God and others. The nice thing about these books is that you can pass them along to people, especially people who don't already have the Holy Spirit in their hearts and through reading they realize that what they need to do. To get God back into their hearts and lives. Because the reading isn't hard, and it is an interesting story that keeps you sitting on the edge of your seat.

This is the second out of a set of 12. We have listened through set #6 and they are all great so far. The characters really start to develop in "Tribulation Force" as they begin to understand more about the difficult days ahead.

I have read all the books in the Left Behind Series and these Sound and Drama Audios are great. They bring the characters and story alive. I listen to them over and over again, usually while working on the computer.

Good Story TOTALLY Ruined by Anti-Catholic Plot Twists ..,
By A Customer
This review is from: Tribulation Force: An Experience in Sound and Drama (CD audio) (Audio CD)
The subject is fascinating -- particularly now, as we approach the millenium; the author's writing style is easy to read, and the characters and events, set against the Book of Revelation COULD have been blended into a captivating which both entertains and draws readers to Christ. For me, however, this book was totally ruined by the needless and vicious attacks on the Catholic church. At page 53 (hardcover), I learned that MOST Catholics were left behind after the Rapture. (Granted, the word "most" is never used; readers are told instead that, while "some" Catholics were Raptured, "many" were left behind. I checked several English language dictionaries, and the meaning is clear ...) The authors would have us believe that Catholics are so woefully ignorant of the Scriptures that those left behind totally miss the significance of the Rapture. The Catholic hierarchy -- cardinals and bishops who serve the Lord -- is left intact at the Vatican, with the exception of the pope, Raptured only because he abandoned elements of Catholic theology deemed erroneous by the authors. A Catholic cardinal is used by the authors to fall in league with the Antichrist and head a global psuedo-religion which rejects all crucial tenets of Christianity. I fail to see how any of this advances the story of Rayford, Amanda, Buck and Chloe in their journey to new faith. The authors offered no thoughts on the relative numbers of other Christian faith traditions included in the Rapture, so why do so for Catholics? If a leader of the global community church is needed for plot purposes, why select a Catholic clergyman? Bottom line: It's no fun to read a book when you have to wonder whether the next page will bring a new attack to your faith and your church. This writing reflects religious bigotry of which the authors should be rightfully ashamed.
