4.0 out of 5 stars A Well Deserved Tribute, February 1, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Tribute: Songs of Andrae Crouch (Audio CD)
Way before Kirk Franklin, Andrae Crouch brought a new wave to contemporary gospel. One of the great songwriters of the 20th Century, it's only fitting he be honored for his astounding work. Though everyone involved are to be commended, the standouts for me were Take 6, The Winans, First Call and The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. The Take 6 arrangement of 'This Is Another Day' is powerful! Some of their best work anywhere. Cece Winans rendition of 'Take Me Back' was very appropriate for the opening track. The final track finds Andrae himself, joined by an all-star cast on the reverent 'My Tribute.' This album is filled with some of the best inspirational music ever written.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you don't have this album, get it now!, April 10, 1999

I always loved the song "My Tribute," but I never realized how many songs of Andre Crouch has touched my life. Each of his songs has such a spiritual meaning and it's nice to see him comment on each one of them. One day, I will direct my choir to sing "My Tribute" just like it is on the album.

5.0 out of 5 stars I wish the stars could go to at least 10!!!, October 29, 1998

This album has been a favorite in our family for many years. It has some of the most inspiring songs, beautiful music. You can feel the presence of God as you sing along with these songs. Our younger daughter, who is 19, says "I wish we could sing Clay Crosse's version of "The Blood Will Never Loose It's Power" in church! Many of these other songs you may have song in church too. So you know what I mean by "you can feel God" while you sing with these songs. It is well worth the investment.

This is a wonderful album. Every song is uplifting. I have owned it since it came out years ago. I had to buy it twice due not taking care of it.

I can say its one of my favorite albums.

I could tell the love and the fun each artist had in making this CD. First, Mr. Crouch's music is about love and joy, so to sing it just brings that fact to life. I enjoy this CD. They did a great job in putting this collection together. To use the phase of the late Tupac, " I ain't mad atcha!"

4.0 out of 5 stars Two Thumbs Up, February 9, 2002

I had the priviledge of listening to this great album at a friend's house, and i must admit that i was pretty impressed. Ever since that day, "It Won't be Long" done on the album by The Winans has become one of my all time favouties. It's a beautifully performed number telling us of our soon coming meeting with our Lord and saviour.
TWO THUMBS UP!!
