5.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly fine album of short pieces associated with Heifetz
Perlman plays these short works with his usual ability and without any problematic new arrangements. Perhaps one might take exception to invoking the great man's name as one other review does. But it does not have any problems as it stands musically as do some of the other theme albums such as Tradition. It is also one of the few places you will find Perlman's...

1.0 out of 5 stars WHY?
I have not listened to this CD and I think Pearlman is great but no one can match Heifetz' playing of course. I suggest that any violinist who wants to pay tribute to Heifetz select their favorite Heifetz recordings and COMMENT on them.

But it does not have any problems as it stands musically as do some of the other theme albums such as Tradition. It is also one of the few places you will find Perlman's performance of Achron's Hebrew Melody as heard in the film In The Fiddler's House but not included on the sound track. Mainly I wanted to balance off the undeserved one star rating left by that other reviewer.

5.0 out of 5 stars maybe you should listen to a CD before rating it one star., April 22, 2008

The one-star reviewer began his critique with "I have not listened to this CD".

I would recommend that others should ignore the one-star rating.

I wish people would at least listen to a CD before slapping a low one-star rating on it.
