5.0 out of 5 stars Essential recording, November 15, 2002

This is not "Celtic"; there are no synths or bass guitars. This is real Irish Traditional music played by master musicians at the top of their form. Several generations of musicians have grown up since this album was originally released, and many of the best, from both sides of the Atlantic, will tell you that they memorized every track of the LP. This CD re-issue has good clean sound that is not at all dated. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Pure Drop, August 31, 2008

T. Madden is right. This recording is "The Pure Drop." This is Irish traditional music at its best. I have a copy of the original LP on the Shaskeen label framed and hanging on the wall. Get a copy while you still can.
