This is a fine collection of actual Dino arrangements. So many of his collections contain very few of his own distinctive offerings; instead, they are collaborations, or simply the arrangements of other pianists. If it's DINO's style you're after, this 1975 publication (plus Dino, PIANO STYLINGS--1980) are the books to get. Others (such as GREAT IS THE LORD, and RHYTHM OF PEACE) are later publications and are much weaker. Dino, MILLION SELLER--Songs by Request also has almost nothing of Dino's actual arranging; it's mostly just stuff he's played (and I don't think it is up to Dino's level at all). GREAT IS THE LORD does have one or two songs worth considering ("How Great Thou Art" and "Upon This Rock"), but otherwise it is quite disappointing). The same can be said for RHYTHM OF PEACE with questionable arrangements, some of which are more secular than sacred and impossibly difficult to play (and musically not worth the effort).

MY TRIBUTE, however, has several fine Dino arrangements, including "A Quiet Place," "I Cannot Hide From God," "If My People Will Pray," and "Pearl of Great Price." "If My People Will Pray" is a well-developed arrangement which, like many Dino works, has a big, dramatic opening and then settles down for awhile to begin its exploration of the main theme. I like Dino's use of Left Hand chords here (much as in his "Amazing Grace" arrangement--overall his finest arrangement ever, available in Dino, PIANO STYLINGS--1980, a gold mine of great sacred piano solo arrangements). I also appreciate his use of Right Hand octaves to build the theme into a towering expression of faith. Typical of Dino's best stuff is his dynamic variation, and certainly this arrangement is no exception; the theme builds to a climactic high and then fades away beautifully.

"Pearl of Great Price" opens with a rather ethereal ambience created by both hands moving in slow, opposing arpeggios in extended chord outlining before launching into a wonderful presentation of the main theme in full Right Hand chords against rolling Left Hand arpeggios. Well into the arrangement there is one perhaps overly showy passage with the Left Hand glissing up and down the black keys, but the result is a satisfying climax which then fades away in the end. (I prefer to end with the big climax and skip the ending on this one.)

MY TRIBUTE is a good buy if it's really Dino's best stylings you're after. This is Dino at his semi-Classical best, better than any others I have played (and I've played a LOT of them!).

This book was one of the last of the Mojhican's! Still had the original price sticker on the back of $4.95! Never been opened! No marks whatsoever. Dino is truly an icon of Christian piano music!!!

I'm a huge Dino fan, and his books are not easy to come by.
I love the book, and was shocked at how quickly it was at my front door-shipping was great :)

Outrageous price for the book which was aged although in good shape. Guess that is the price of out of print musical scores.
