4.0 out of 5 stars Super Charger Hell
This tribute shows some different interpretations of White Zombie songs. Like one, Shockwerks awesome cover of "More Human Than Human" it brings in some elctectronica, while letting the distortian be used as the main riff (agreeing with other reviewer). Another awesome song definately is Silent Stream of Godless Elegy's cover of "Blood,Milk, and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Use your own styles"tribute"
Half of the songs sound pretty good but the other half seem to be sung in the note of drunk.... they are all mostly trying to sound like Rob Zombie and come short to having any of their own styles added. Its a nice cd to have if you just like Zombie and like other people doing their thing the their songs...but the over all, just buy the real Zombie.

This tribute shows some different interpretations of White Zombie songs. Like one, Shockwerks awesome cover of "More Human Than Human" it brings in some elctectronica, while letting the distortian be used as the main riff (agreeing with other reviewer). Another awesome song definately is Silent Stream of Godless Elegy's cover of "Blood,Milk, and Sky" This cover is incredible. I definately liked Habeas Corpus' and Disarray's Hardcore covers of the songs "Grindhouse A Go-Go" and "Blur The Technicolor" A song that took a while to grow on me (now i appreciate) is Mind Phaser's cover of "El Phantasmo" It is completely different and although it is very good, most people will probaly not like this track, but see for yourself, it might grow on you. Anyways, This tribute is worthy of getting if you want to complete the White Zombie collection, and dont just let it sit and collect dust, because this tribute album is very worth of play.

Love White Zombie but this "tribute" is insulting and should have been done by talented artists/bands.

The first question that comes to mind when I heard about this release is: Is White Zombie worthy enough of a tribute album? Seeing as the band never really accumilated much hits, had only 4 records, and that they had officially broken up years ago. Well, they did it, although tributes should be spent on other artists that truly deserve it (i.e. Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, STP, to name a few). I'm not much of a big White Zombie fan, but after listening to this whole tribute, I must say it's not bad. This album is strict metal, not the [bad] techno-based filth you get on other so-called 'tributes' to metal bands. Many of the tracks sound very similar to the original track, some heavier and some a slight less, so this tribute should be satisfying to Zombie fans who want to hear their songs with a slightly different twist. "More Human Than Human" was done really well, and rather than imitating the main chorus guitar riff, they decided to take it out and let the distortion/bass be the main riff, which was a good move. "Thunderkiss 65'" was done exactly like the original, and I guess it was good not to mess around the original, but the main wonder is if this was really done by 'Catch 22'? The pop/punk band. Other great covers on this disc were of "Black Sunshine", "Super Charger Heaven" and "Warp Asylum". However, the song that got me the most was "Blood Milk Sky" redone by the band 'Silent Stream of Godless Elegy', their version by far outdoes the original. The only weak tracks I can say are "El Phantasmo", "Blur The Technicolor", "Grindhouse A Go Go" and "Creature Of The Wheel", they came off really poor. Overall, this CD really rocks, it's a very metallic tribute and I would place it on the side of good tribute albums.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad coming from no-name bands, November 23, 2011

I'm a big WZ fan and can say this tribute doesn't really do the songs 100% justice. I know maybe 2 of the 13 bands on this CD and some of the songs are downright horrible. All-in-all not a bad CD....takes a couple of listens to start liking it.

1.0 out of 5 stars poor tribute to white zombie, October 21, 2010
This review is from: Tribute to White Zombie: Super Charger Hell (Audio CD)
This album should have never been made. It is a poor excuse for a tribute to white zombie. The album is ameturish at best, and sounds like crap! I would not recommend this album to any serious ROb/White Zombie fan. You would be better off buying the real thing, and not this garbage!

God bless...Hillery T.Watkins

For loyal White Zombie fans, it was something new to listen to. But, you can see why there was not much publicity about its release. Most of the bands mutilated the original version of the song. I would get this one, only if you are bored out of your mind and can't find the originals!
