Decent Tribute To A Brilliant Band,
By Erik Nolan (Piscataway, NJ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tributized (Audio CD)
A bunch of unknown bands take a shot at covering several well known Leppard classics. Some are terrible; like the industrial sounding cover of "Pour Some Sugar On Me." Some are just OK: the standard sounding cover of "Wasted." The best cover is a really heavy and rocking version of "Too Late For Love." Leppard's impressive production makes them a tough band to cover, but its real cool and about time a tribute album has been made in their honor.

Hurricane-Joe,

I like the cd because of the idea of someone finally giving Def Leppard the credit they deserve. So many of the '80's bands capitalized on Def Leppard's success and never once gave credit to this ground breaking band. They opened up the door for Heavy Metal acts to get popular top 40 status. Having said all that, if you're a fan of the Def Leppard sound, don't expect these songs to copy it. I am sure the groups played the best they could, but truth be told some of the covers are very different from the original recordings. Depending on personal taste, you may or may not like this cd. I can't imagine any die hard Def Leppard fan loving all the tracks, but stranger things have happened. Nevertheless, I am glad this cd exists as a tribute. I thank the artists for their efforts; especially for the memory of my biggest musical influence, Steve "Steamin" Clark.

Decent, but not done right!,

Def Leppard, sellers of 60 million plus albums deserves a better tribute than what has been placed on Tributized. It was a good effort, but all of these bands are unknown and lack the talent to perform Leppard music. The forthcoming tribute with better known artist will be worth a buy, but this one is only good for Rock of Ages and Women. They totally butchered Pour Some Sugar On Me with that industrial sound. Other song sound like something out of a struggling club act. My recommendation is buy it, but make sure your not expecting a high level of exellence in the recording and performance.

This CD rulez any tribute done to Def Leppard! This is the first recording for all the bands featured on it, and to say they don't have that much experiance, its totally killer! All the bands have covered the songs as if the songs were their own, so they don't sound exaclty same as the originals, but they're fresh!

This cd rulz! These unknown bands sure know how to bring these Def Leppard songs back to justice! I really liked every song on this cd. I highly repsect one song , "Pour Some Sugar on Me" by Cleaner. Most people dislike it, i really respect it though because the band put it into their own perspective, because if you tried the hardest to sound like Def Leppard the tribute albums wouldnt be as good. Over all - Awesome cd, buy now to add to your Def Lep collection

Injustice for All,

This is a pretty terrible tribute album. However, there are some descent songs. Women and Rock of Ages are pretty much the only good renditions. Pour some sugar on me is AWFUL! It's an industrial version. And photograph has a contemporary standard rock 4/4 beat with what sounds like a poor man's Matt Barlow on vocals. Avoid if you can. I give it two stars only because of its two good songs and that it isn't nearly as bad as those death metal Iron Maiden tributes.

You cant complain about this cd. Its somthing that you can kick back to and enjoy because i mean its def lep material. Its not as good as i hoped it would be. these none popular bands did quite good. Some guitar playing turned out to be better than the original def lep tunes. but overall, its the little esseintal things that made this cd overall not very good. Voices, guitar sound, missing guitar solos were some disappointment. but if ur a big def lep fan like me, i say buy it. It's somthing to put in the def lep collection!

Why would you buy this piece of S**T when you can get Pyromania and Hysteria by the original band? Don't waste your money!! And those who say this album is good, you've OBVIOUSLY never heard Def Leppard play.

A Well Deserved Tribute,

Not only does this show that Def Leppard have amazing lyrics/music, it shows what an impact it has on all musical styles. Just saw them Friday night in Salisbury, MD and was blown away - they still sound the same. They will go down as one of the BEST...
