1000 Pounds? Maybe a couple of times, but it won't last.,

This review is from: Tricam GOR108-SC Gorilla Carts 1,000-Pound-Capacity Dumping Cart (Lawn & Patio)
I purchased this cart from a brick and mortar retailer near me. Actually, I purchased it twice. I was clearing some dirt from an area between my house and driveway and thought this would be perfect for hauling it to the low spots in my backyard. The handy swivel handle was perfect for letting me hitch it to the back of my lawn tractor to save me the effort of pulling it 100 yards each time I needed to dump it.After about 5 loads I noticed that the cart was no longer tracking straight behind the lawn tractor. Upon dumping it I found that the weld on one of the front wheels had broken and it was swiveling independently instead of in line with the other three wheels. I loaded it up, took it back to the place of purchase. Had to debate with the store manager as to whether the break was my fault or not (look, there's no freaking way that cart can fit 1,000 lbs of dirt in it). I took another one home, assembled it, and went back to work the next day. After another 4 loads it started acting funny again. Turns out this time one of the bolts that holds the tongue/handle to the front axle came loose and fell out. Not one of the bolts that I put in on assembly, but one that came on a pre-assembled part from the factory. I was out of business AGAIN. I'm headed to the hardware store today to find another bolt to replace the one that was lost. Overall, this cart should be sufficient for light duty around the home, but for the money you could do better with a wheelbarrow. Although it has the capability, it's not built sturdy enough to carry a full load behind a lawn tractor. I'll baby this one along as long as I can, but the quality is not what I expected.

It is really good if you have a lot of landscaping projects around the house...the dump feature is helpful to me. I can pull large bags of dirt and mulch out of my truck bed into the cart and dump them where I need them, it helps a lot when you have a bad back, but still want to do some yard work. I choose this cart over the smaller one because of the reviews, the bed on this one is larger and can hold several bags of dirt or mulch without falling out. I had a wire mesh garden cart before that rusted out very quickly...I like this one a whole lot better so far.

I have owned this dump cart for a month now and have used it quite a lot. From my experience with it, it is very top heavy and not as ruggedly built as I had hoped. To say that this could hold 1000-Lbs is a real stretch (like others have stated). For Example: The other day while slowly towing the cart behind my riding lawn mower, down a 30 degree decline, with only 400 lbs in it (10 forty pound bags of topsoil in it), the front wheels collapsed under the wagon. The cart then flipped and bent most everything on the front steering end of things. The problem is that there is only 1 bar that supports the front wheels horizontally, while the rear wheels have two. The single bar is about 18 inches long and simply too thin to handle any real force being applied to it (like when the cart is going down a hill, across bumpy ground, etc.). The cart also has a narrow stance, so it tries to tip over all the time, especially when making turns or if you have a full load of dirt. This cart would be fine if you had property that was flat and had no bumps or basically anything stressful that your front wheels might momentarily have to deal with, but unfortunately that isn't my property. It's not a bad cart but it really is only a light duty cart that I would never recommend trying to put more than 500-lbs of anything in it. By the way this exact same cart is re-branded by a lot of retailers as I found while shopping for it.

do not buy,
This review is from: Tricam GOR108-SC Gorilla Carts 1,000-Pound-Capacity Dumping Cart (Lawn & Patio)
i bought this cart several months ago. One of the wheels is leaking at the stem. after many emails, several weeks and trying a phone number that nobody answers I just now got a response that states I have to wait several more weeks because the wheel is on back order, it is a new product. Lesson learned. go to Sears or walmart. This company does not back you up and has zero customer service. summer is half over and I haven't even used the cart. Talk about getting burned. so now I am trying to send it back due to lack of support and warranty issues. This was my most frustrating online purchase ever! oh by the way, i gave 1 star because it would not accept zero.

I researched this cart and settled for the 1200 lb model with 13 in. wheels it is very stable and I got it from lowes I think it was 120.00. I couldnt buy just the wheels for that price. I have hauled some really heavy rocks with it and it worked great.

I purchased a Vigoro Dumping Cart ( 600 # ) a couple years ago. While this is a different name ( Vigoro can not be found anywher now )the construction is identical with the exception of the upper tub. Yes it worked fine, for 1 year. First the steering control arm bent, Then the handle failed, today one of the wheels fell off and the other is not far behind. The wheels are welded ? to a hub. The bearings in the hub began to fail first and then the wheel broke off of the hub and rolled away. The tube is good as new but, everything under it is lost. Great concept, but completely inadequate manufacturing.

I bought this as a mothers day present, it came "broken" and with parts missing, then when my mom dealt with with the Tricam Industries Customer Support dept, they tried to charge her for parts, it took, several emails and calls to straighten the system out. But the wagon itself once assembled is very good product gets 4 stars , service 0 stars

This is a piece of junk, and I would advise anyone NOT to buy it. Mine came with NO hardware pack to assemble it, so I called and had another one sent to me. The directions for assembly are poor, and all-in-all it is a really lousy value and basically a piece of junk.

Would not buy again , got this item for my husband, he only used it a few times and the front wheel broke off... Paid way to much for this to happen. Would have returened but it cost more to return it then to buy another wheel. And he only uses it for pulling trash up our driveway .

Though a simple design; it is very well thought out. The assembly process is simple but I found the need to add spacers in most locations in order to cut down wheel slop when cornering as well as where the handle joins the front axle. It was a simple enough action but one truly necessary once a load--not really a heavy one,--was applied.I recommend the product to anyone wishing to upgrade a load moving job. |
