5.0 out of 5 stars Nice yard and garden cart for the money
I opened the box to find a cart that wasn't likely to carry much more than a "Town and Country" children's riding wagon.

I was hoping for something bigger. Oh well, I thought--this is probably all the garden wagon I can expect to get for under a hundred dollars.

But I'm liking it more and more now that it's assembled and in use.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not great.
I bought this cart to haul various things behind my garden tractor. It is rated to carry 600lbs distributed evenly which it does quite well. However, the plastic "bin" used to contian the hauled items is very flimsy and flexes if not loaded carefully or stressed on a steep hill. It's not bad and the price is good but, if you want rugged, heavy duty hauling capacity,...

As I unpacked it I realized the running gear--frame, wheels, tow bar--are very beefy. If the plastic tub ever splits or cracks to a point where I can't use it anymore, I'm sure I could build an even bigger tub out of plywood and reuse all the rest of the parts. In fact the wagon may be worth the purchase price just to get all those parts.

Assembly was a bit difficult. It wasn't that it was complicated. It's just that many of the bolts had very shallow heads and very shallow standard screwdriver slots to match. I couldn't seem to find a screwdriver that would stay securely in the slots while I tightened the nuts. I wound up using the edge of a bricklaying trowel to hold some of them.

Even with that little annoyance I had the cart together with tires inflated and ready to roll in under two hours.

I use a 6-foot ratcheting tie-down strap to expand the wagon's load capacity. I stack branches and sticks in lengthwise in the wagon tub and pile them as high as I can. Then I wrap the strap around sticks, tub, and all, and tighten it down--just enough to snug the load.

The wagon rides very well over our uneven property. And because of the long tow handle and steering front wheels it tracks extremely well behind our riding mower. It's like it's following on rails. It doesn't cut corners and run over things when making turns close to something.

The swing-away handles on the tow bar are a real nice addition for those times when you'd rather pull the cart around by hand instead of hooking it to a mower or yard tractor. The cart's dumping feature works very well also.

What I thought would be disappointing turned out to be something I'm very happy with. It may be a light duty wagon, but I'm certain I'll get a lot of use out of it.

I use this for light yardwork and raking leaves, etc., so it is perfect for my needs. The 4 wheel design is very stable over uneven ground and small rocks. With the "Dumping" feature, it is easier for me to use than a traditional 3-wheeled Wheelbarrow. About the 600 Lb. capacity... the plastic is a bit thinner than I had thought, and even if it was thicker, I seriously would not try to cart around more than 100 Lbs. in it; I think it would make the cart too unstable to move safely and would be difficult to dump out (the instructions state that for dumping use to limit cartloads to less than 250 Lbs.

I am very pleased with it, and hope my review will help others in their decision.

Very easy to put together, but it still took me one hour. You need a 13mm & 14mm wrench, a large screw driver and a PZ3 (crosshead screwdriver) to assemble. Very robust chassis and wheels. The plastic bucket seems less robust. I would give it 5 stars except the bucket is too small. It really needs an optional upper attachment to tripple the volume for light loads like prunings and leaves.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well Made Beefy No, March 14, 2008

I wanted to build my own flat bed wagon. Finding the undercarriage is difficult. I found 2, one at $65 and $240. I settled with this Gorilla cart since it has the same wheel base as the $65 [plus $23 shipping] cart kit from Northern Tool.

600 pounds? Um, no. 300 pounds is pushing the envelope. You can lay 2 100 pound sacks of deer feed in it with the one on top sticking out by half the bag. I couldn't imagine 3 of them let alone 6. If you used it in a building with smooth floors you could do 300 pounds but not possible outside.

The only problems I found are the steering mechanism and handle length. The "tongue" [the part the handle connects to] is it's weakest link. The problem is where it pivots, not at the handle but at the rear of that piece. When you pull or push the handle there is a lot of flexing. As you push to back up, that mechanism is pushed way down due to nothing stopping it from moving. When you pull, it is pulled back up in a vertical motion. If you have ever bent a piece of metal back and forth multiple times you know it'll break. To fix this problem [you can't use a long nut and bolt as it is a pivot point] I used a 1 and a half foot long Very Thick zip strip. Without this addition the steering is certainly subject to damage, with it I find it to be very sturdy.

The other problem is the handle. Short. If you are around 5'8" perfect. I am 6' and have to bend over to pull. I replaced it with a 6' aluminum tube.

The dumping action is impressive. If you move dirt or gravel things of that nature you will enjoy this feature. I would have thought it was a sliding action with metal rails but no. It is a simple easy to use pivot point. Once unlocked the wagon won't just tip back on its own which is good. This is a really cool feature for those who need it.

The plastic tub is very thick and sturdy. I strongly suggest adding large diameter washers to the inside of the tub. The small bolts will cause too much stress and break the plastic.
After the addition I made to this little cart I find it to be very nice light duty wagon. Stable and tough enough. Is it beefy? No. Is it worth 75 bucks? Absolutely!

The last two posters were right on in their comments. Easy assembly, well constructed - even inner tubes in the tires. It does seem a bit small with an 18" X 36" tub. It was what I expected, tho an improvement on the tub would be nice. It dumps well. I could see the tub failing if you hauled bricks or sharp big rocks with it. But hey, maybe I'l nail on the old wheelbarrow tray when its handles finally break . . .

4.0 out of 5 stars Strength Required For Assembly, March 3, 2009

This review is from: Tricam GOR201B-T1 Gorilla Carts 600-Pounds Capacity Dumping Cart, Black (Lawn & Patio)
My wife and I bought this cart for several reasons. We are remodeling and getting ready for some heavy-duty landscaping and thought the 600 lb capacity and the 'dump' feature made it perfect for the task of moving materials from the front of our house to the rear. However, the true test was going to be moving 2 cords of wood that were going to be delivered the Monday after we ordered it. I ordered it with Prime on a Friday at 2:30 and it was in my wife's hands Monday by noon. She attempted to assemble the cart on her own, her mind gets ahead of her 110 lb body sometimes, and failed. The only problems were the close tolerances for the alignment of the various nuts and bolts. Thankfully it only took me about 20 minutes to assemble it and she was off hauling (completely against the manufacturer's instructions and common sense) our 10 year old son around the house. About an hour later we had 2 cords of wood dumped in our driveway and faced what appeared to be an insurmountable task of moving the pile from the front, 100 ft to the back of the house and stacking it into racks. The three of us had it done in under three hours and my wife did all the pulling. It was amazing how smootly the oversized tires went over small dips and divots in the terrain and how stable it was when dumping its cargo. I would highly recommend this product to anyone needing to move heavy, loose items. I would also recommend having someone handy with good hand and upper-body strength to put it together. Once together, it is a very solid cart that is ready for anything.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cart received... (was Please ship the cart), May 26, 2007
This review is from: Tricam GOR201B-T1 Gorilla Carts 600-Pounds Capacity Dumping Cart, Black (Lawn & Patio)
Update: Received June 24, and a fine dump cart it is.. Can be towed with ATV or pulled by hand, depending on the way the handle is set. Nice dump action, as when the tub is raised, the rear wheels move toward the front wheels. This moves the tub center of gravity to the rear so the tub easily tilts. Nice overall design!

Took months to receive the cart after order... possibly production lead time. Anyway, it's here, and I'm very satisfied.

A great alternative to the old "one wheel" wheel barrel. It holds plenty and dumps like a dream. Well built can hold 600 pounds and dump 300 pounds.

I was lucky--mine came already assembled. I played with it a bit before purchasing it, and knew it was the ticket for me. So far, it's done everything I've asked, including hauling long poles, boxes of books, sticks and dirt. It rolls smoothly, corners well and is sturdy.
