5.0 out of 5 stars Great album compliments a great movie!
I loved the movie so much, I knew the album would be loads of fun. This upbeat dance compilation will keep you entertained from beginning to end. The tracks, "Unspeakable Joy", "I am Woman" and "Dreamweaver" more than make up for the annoying tap-dance sounds found in Tori Spelling's rendition of "Enter You". Be forwarned, the album contains a few sound bytes from...

3.0 out of 5 stars Winning look at new broadway writing
"Enter You" is a Steven Sondheim-esque song written in "Trick" as if it would appear on broadway. The accuracy of the Broadway style is stunning, although the soundtrack is disappointing in that there is no studio version of "Enter You" present. (Although the version by Tori Spelling is comically horrible.) The dance mixes are excellent if...

The tracks, "Unspeakable Joy", "I am Woman" and "Dreamweaver" more than make up for the annoying tap-dance sounds found in Tori Spelling's rendition of "Enter You". Be forwarned, the album contains a few sound bytes from the movie which you may not fully appreciate unless you have treated yourself to watching this uniquely-themed gay film. I HIGHLY recommend purchasing both the film and this album. You will not be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mindblowing, Club-Anthem Soundtrack to Own, July 12, 2000

Incorporating all the musical styles found in New York's nightlife, the soundtrack to the film "Trick" is probably one of the best soundtracks I have listened in years. The highlights on this soundtrack have to be "Brand New Lover" by Bibiche and "Someone To Hold," by Veronica. Both songs, especially "Someone to Hold" will make you feel that you are partying in New York's club circuit, and although it is close to 12 minutes long, Veronica truly has set her as a rising club music diva!

It was especially interesting to hear Tori Spelling belting "Enter You". While she is not the greatest singer, she truly has shown that she does possess talent for a comical musical performance such as this. Steve Hayes rendition of "Como te Gusta mi Pinga?" was also wonderful.

If you need to get a good soundtrack that will keep you entertained for hours, this is it. Whether at home or during your daily commute, you will agree with me that this is one of the best soundtracks in recent years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best use of HOUSE music ever on a soundtrack, August 5, 1999

This review is from: Trick: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
The Trick soundtrack has some of the best house music from the last year. The highlight is Kim English with "Unspeakable Joy". I think this is the first time this song has been available on a album. Also the mix of "Dreamweaver" by the Razor-N-Guido is excellent! There are several other great Dance songs by Junior Vasquez and such. There is also a song by Tori Spelling that is pretty funny. The whole thing makes for a great party album.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun dance and a power ballad., September 15, 1999

I really loved this movie, and the soundtrack is great too. The song "Trick of Fate" is sung by Valerie Pinkston (whos is she?) and is one of the best big ballads I've heard in a while. It's worth the one song alone.

Whoever put this soundtrack together did a great job. I love the remakes of "I Am Woman" and "Dreamweaver". Of the original songs, "Maybe (Love'll Make Sense To Me)" is by far my favorite. What a soulful powerful voice Jeff Krassner has. What terrific lyrics. I didn't know him before, but would love to hear more of his work now!

From the theme song, "Trick of Fate" to the various mixes throughout, the music is fun, refreshing, and Beautiful. My Favorite song, "Trick of Fate", I'd never heard till I saw the movie. It was, and is, a song that hit way close to home. It's a must have for anyone who's ever fallen in love online, or in any rather "odd" situation. The Dance Mix of "Dreamveaver" is also excellent.

This soundtrack is pumped full of dance tracks. I love every track on the CD. I have heard some of these tracks played at clubs and many of my friends put on this CD when they have a party.

But it's not all dance. There is also a nice, relaxing, very cute couple of tracks that everyone can sing along with. Remember "¿Como te gusta mi pinga?" in the film, well it's on the CD and it's still just as funny. It's also a lot of fun to sing to.

This soundtrack is just so much fun. A very good compliment to a wonderful film.

4.0 out of 5 stars "I Am Woman" saves the day....., October 3, 2000

This review is from: Trick: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
Well, this is simply one of the best soundtracks in recent gay motion picture history. Jesse William's remix of "I Am Woman" is the centerpiece in this bouquet of house music. This soundtrack has it all. Even Tori Spelling. Who'd of thunk...? In an impressive "mockery" of broadway music, "Enter You" excells. I would recommend this soundtrack to anyone.

This is just the type of soundtrack compiliation that makes me wish could put some strobe lights in my work cube. The songs are all fantastic, and blend very well from one to the next. The quotes from the movie in between songs, are just the perfect ones. THE EVEN INCLUDE TORI SPELLING ON HERE!!!
