I bought these to replace the flimsy plastic ones that come with Presta inner tubes (which break all the time). These will never break and look pretty classy.

Short, loose, unsealed, don't even extend past the gap between the threads. The plastic stock parts are better except for the fact that they always seem to break. These will definitely not even slow down water entering the valve area.
