Book Description

October 1, 1997
Haunted-house parties and ghostly galas...grinning pumpkins, mayhem and murder. It's going to be one heck of a Halloween for Lucy Stone and Tinker's Cove...It's October in Maine, and everyone in Tinker's Cove is preparing for the annual Halloween festival. While Lucy Stone is whipping up orange-frosted cupcakes, recycling tutus for her daughters' Halloween costumes, helping her son with his pre-teen rebellion, and breast-feeding her brand-new baby, an arsonist is loose in Tinker's Cove. When the latest fire claims the life of the owner of the town's oldest house, arson turns into murder...While the townsfolk work to transform a dilapidated mansion into a haunted house for the All-Ghouls festival, the hunt for the culprit heats up. Trick-or-treat turns deadly as a little digging in all the wrong places puts Lucy too close to a shocking discovery that could send all her best-laid plans up in smoke...

I have just stared to read the Lucy Stone mysteries and I am finding each one is getting better than the last. I am looking forward to more adventures with this young mother and amateur sleuth. She is not only likable but
seems like an old friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Halloween read!, October 13, 2010
This review is from: Trick or Treat Murder (Lucy Stone Mysteries) (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this juicy little book! I wanted a Halloween themed mystery that was set in New England with all the comforts and nostalgia of fall and this didn't disappoint. The mystery was interesting and unpredictable, the details of family life were realistic and relatable and Lucy Stone (the main character) was super likable. I will definitely read the other Lucy Stone Mysteries.

3.0 out of 5 stars Review of "Trick or Treat Murder", October 19, 2009

This review is from: Trick or Treat Murder (Lucy Stone Mysteries) (Paperback)
This book features female-sleuth Lucy Stone and is set in October. There is an arsonist loose in the small Maine town of Tinker's Cove and the book follows Lucy's efforts to catch him or her.

I like the way the Halloween theme was used in the book. There was a lot of emphasis given to Lucy caring for her baby and of her trying to find the time to do everything she needs to do in her busy life. I felt there could have been more emphasis on the mystery part of the story.
