At 21, A. Skillz is the younger of the pair but his scratch-tastic deckmanship has already made him a force to be reckoned with amongst turntablists. A drummer ever since he could hold sticks, hes played in rock, soul and funk bands as well as doing remixes for the DMC Phat Bass compilations and providing beats and studio service to several top drum and bass producers. Krafty Kuts is widely regarded as a deck wizard. Self taught, skilled and influenced by the ghetto sheiks of the 80s, Krafty Kuts took the next step and started making his own music. From the moment Norman Cook aka FatBoy Slim signed his first ever track to his label, Southern Fried, Krafty Kuts reputation was set. He was recently named one of the Top 100 DJs in the world for the third time running by DJ Magazine and won Best International DJ at the Australian Dance Music Awards.
Now with the A Skillz & Krafty Kuts debut album set to drop on Finger Lickin Records in September, the future certainly looks bright for the pair. With their influences ranging from Kraftwerk to James Brown, The Commodores to De La Soul, the album promises to be a nu-skool Hip Hop adventure. Enlisting the talents of some of the worlds best hip hop and funk artists, Tricka Technology just oozes a party-rockin vibe. Droop Capone, Ashley Slater (Freak Power), Real Elements, Kurtis Blow, TC Izlam (son of Afrika Bambattaa) and Dr. Luke have all collaborated here with the result being a release full of Hip Hop beats, party tunes, deck tricks and spontaneous skits.

Rocks from start to finish,
By
This review is from: Tricka Technology (Audio CD)
I was not familiar with either of these DJ's before I bought this album, all I know is that it rocks from start to finish. I am an occasional DJ at a particular location where I live and am constantly asked to put this album on. When I DO play it, people come up and ask me who it is. I mostly DJ Old School Funk and Soul, with some various electronica and other music thrown in. It's all about the dance. Couldn't believe there was only one other review and it was three stars. This is a five star for me. Different strokes for different folks. Check out the Amazon samples and decide for yourself.

Timeless, perfect party album,

I can't say enough about this release! It's timeless. It's beautiful. It's simply brilliant. The tracks are complex, perfectly produced and embrace so may different influences. It's really sad to see that records like this are lost to the public, when so much garbage out there sells millions of copies for artists who can't even sing without the help of studio software tricks! This release deserves to be up there with any of your top-ten favorites of all time...buy it, it's that good!

Some good content. still relatively rough around the edges, but holds some sick jams, with some tight beats. i would recommend buying if you want to show off some underground flavour to your friends however doesn't hold enough for continous listening.
