I bought Kyra Sundance's 101 Dog Tricks book a while ago, and then decided to buy the workbook with the DVD for visual help with teaching the tricks. The included DVD is actually just a promo DVD which only covers 5 "tricks" (sit, spin, prayers, hoop jump, bow) - and even the full version only covers 16 tricks). This information should be included in the description of the product. The workbook is colorful and easy to understand - probably a good beginner book.

This is an amazing set! My five year old son and I are teaching tricks to our aussies with it. Kyra's easy to follow workbook format and flash cards make things super easy to follow. More importantly she makes it easy to understand how to convey the information to your dog! The DVD gives great visual back up of the material. If you are going to spend the money on a trick book, this one is definitely worth it!!! Kyra's other books are fantastic as well!

Love working through these and it is neat that she has cards for each trick. I have a stack now that we know and it is a good reminder for what to practice. Some we haven't learned yet, but are working on. I have a border collie and needed to give him more stuff to learn. She gave us great ideas and fun times together with my dog!

I actually received this workbook in a packet for my Certified Trick Dog Instructor certification, and at first, I kind of pushed it aside and thought it might be kind of silly & rudimentary, but as I referred to it for something, I got sucked in at how fun it is and it is NOT rudimentary as you escalate in difficulty/levels! There are index cards with it, and places to write in information, and even for a seasoned professional trainer, if you take the time to actually read through it, the questions it asks you really make you think and tap into more potential as a dog trainer if you open your mind to it.

I own five pit bull dogs (and Higher Expectations Dog Trainign & Behavior Modification - [...]) in Massachusetts, and they (the dogs) range in size from 47 lbs to over 90 lbs, and even though they are totally different shapes and body types & temperaments, they ALL love trick training and were able to accomplish the different tricks this workbook lays out for you.. Of course, different tricks are more suited to one dog than another and you make adaptations as necessary - I also love to leave room for my own dogs' creativity! lol. (That's how Dually learned "T-Rex!!!" which is just a trick he made up where he waves his short little arms around on cue.)

Kyra Sundance is awesome, and this makes a fun read even for a serious trainer who deals mostly in "aggressive" dogs. This was a nice reminder to keep having fun with training, and my boyfriend and I love having the workbook to work through.. It gives you a goal, so you're not just mindlessly training away. The dogs appreciate it, too :) Kyra's a great author, and incedentally, a really nice person.

Very easy to follow, to train your dog with the fantastic book. I have 6 month old and 8 year old labradors who both are learning and doing tricks . Love that this book is designed to write in and track you dog's progress.

Great beginning book. Has some awesome tricks in it that will leave your friends and family saying "wow". Takes some time to go through but has very clear instructions, which was really nice!

Don't think I'll ever teach my dog all these tricks but the "building" sections were great - it take you through step-by-step which tricks to teach first so that you can build off of those and move on to more advanced tricks.

I love the "throw it away" trick. Just had your dog a piece of trash and have him toss it in the trash bin for you - fun and great for showing off (in a "see how clean my dog is" sort of way).

This is a great book and does give detailed instructions on how to train your dog. The DVD only includes video for a select number of the tricks, I only wish the DVD would have had more.

The trick cards are great as well, There are places for you to write in the book to keep track of your dogs progress.

...so we didn't get past the first two tricks. (I'm pretty sure that the Beagle has a "Human Tricks Training" book somewhere.) The premise is fairly simple but the book does get you up and doing things and that's the hardest step of all. The packaging leaves a bit to be desired, though. The pockets fell apart in my hands as soon as I opened the book.
