5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC!!! A Must MUST buy!!!
This is an amazing set! My five year old son and I are teaching tricks to our aussies with it. Kyra's easy to follow workbook format and flash cards make things super easy to follow. More importantly she makes it easy to understand how to convey the information to your dog! The DVD gives great visual back up of the material. If you are going to spend the money on a trick...

I bought Kyra Sundance's 101 Dog Tricks book a while ago, and then decided to buy the workbook with the DVD for visual help with teaching the tricks. The included DVD is actually just a promo DVD which only covers 5 "tricks" (sit, spin, prayers, hoop jump, bow) - and even the full version only covers 16 tricks). 4.0 out of 5 stars Great tool for training, October 13, 2009

This is a great book and does give detailed instructions on how to train your dog. The DVD only includes video for a select number of the tricks, I only wish the DVD would have had more.

The trick cards are great as well, There are places for you to write in the book to keep track of your dogs progress.

Very easy to follow, to train your dog with the fantastic book. I have 6 month old and 8 year old labradors who both are learning and doing tricks . Love that this book is designed to write in and track you dog's progress.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality, great material, good gift idea..., April 23, 2010

This is a very good gift idea, I recommend for those who love dogs, and dog training. I purchased for myself, not followed as it is marked, some pages are just too much for me like one I read where you supose to write what your dog expect about the training. The quality of the material, colors and design are superb, the cards are very very nice, clear instructions and pictures. The cd is not very extensive as I expected to be, but still good.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great traing regiment, September 17, 2010

This review is from: The Dog Tricks and Training Workbook: A Step-by-Step Interactive Curriculum to Engage, Challenge, and Bond with Your Dog (Hardcover-spiral)
The book and cards set up a very cut and dry training regiment and seem to be producing results. The book really doesn't cover establishing a healthy pack mentality with your dog and I am learning that goes along way towards the training and the willingness of our k9 family members to respond to the training like we would want them to rather than because they want a treat/reward. I think the book is great, IF you already have a health pack environment (Where you are the alpha and your dogs "follow you" out of respect and not fear or in hopes you'll give them a treat) then this method I think would work just fine, if you are in a weak pack environment though I think you could have some complications and set backs with this training regime.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good beginning book, October 18, 2010

This review is from: The Dog Tricks and Training Workbook: A Step-by-Step Interactive Curriculum to Engage, Challenge, and Bond with Your Dog (Hardcover-spiral)
Great beginning book. Has some awesome tricks in it that will leave your friends and family saying "wow". Takes some time to go through but has very clear instructions, which was really nice!

Don't think I'll ever teach my dog all these tricks but the "building" sections were great - it take you through step-by-step which tricks to teach first so that you can build off of those and move on to more advanced tricks.

I love the "throw it away" trick. Just had your dog a piece of trash and have him toss it in the trash bin for you - fun and great for showing off (in a "see how clean my dog is" sort of way).

and the workbook is kind of repetitive. I was hoping that it would have more interesting tricks to teach my dog and fewer quizzes.

2.0 out of 5 stars not many tricks, September 19, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Dog Tricks and Training Workbook: A Step-by-Step Interactive Curriculum to Engage, Challenge, and Bond with Your Dog (Hardcover-spiral)
For me, this book has too many features--dvd, shortcut cards, and not great instructions--for the price and the hype about the tricks. It really doesn't give that many tricks for all it says on the cover about teaching your dog tricks...
