Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Young shutterbugs make their models appear headless and eight feet tall with Tricky Pix: Do-It-Yourself Trick Photography by Paula Weed and Carla Jimison. Another fun trick makes a person look as if he's holding two tiny people in his palms. A reusable 35-mm camera and spiralbound instructions are included.

The ideas are outstanding. Actually getting the pictures to come out that way take some work which was a great challenge for my son and I.

This book was a huge hit with a 4, 8, 9, & 10 year old this Christmas. Each of the kids rec'd digital cameras and the 9 year old this book. They played around with the different "poses" for hours Xmas morning and for days after. My daughter is the book owner and has been taking pictures with her friends too. I can't comment on the camera because we never used it - but I would suggest a digital camera so they can review the great shots instantly.

This was disappointing, compared to most Klutz books. It did not grab the attention of my budding-photographer eleven-year-old. The camera included was no better than a disposable one.

I bought this book for my Girl Scout Troop to earn their Camera Shots badge. It was a lot of fun for the girls to pose and take trick shots. The book has information about camera parts and care that would have been more useful if it referred to digital cameras. This shows 35mm and how to load the film, etc. I'm glad I bought the book. The ideas were easy for the girls to carry out and execute with no adult supervision and they had fun doing it.
