Great bike/Great price, June 26, 2008
This review is from: iZip 2008 Tricruiser Adult Electric Tricycle (24-Inch Wheels) (Sports)
I did my shopping for a decent adult electric three wheeler and this bike offered the most in features and value. It shipped for free and arrived in about a week in two boxes. The instructions were clear and well written. All of the nuts and bolts were already installed and it was an easy task as long as you have a helper to hold things as you tighten all the fasteners.
I've had electric bikes in the past and this is the first three wheeler.
My first test ride was awesome! This bike actually has torque! It pulled away with no peddling at all and got up to 15-18mph. The throttle is like a twist-grip and is very responsive. The overall quality is excellent and the seat even comes with a back rest. The frame is aluminum and very strong with quality welds throughout. The basket even folds down and pops up quickly. I'll use this bike for local shopping and beer runs, because my Mercury Marquis is too expensive to operate for casual trips.
I added some headlights and a tail light and a decent cable lock and I'm very satisfied with this bike. It's lots of fun and is a great ride for adults who want to ride easy and enjoy the outdoors. It's also the best-price on the Net.

Disappointed, but dealing with it, September 9, 2008

I would discourage people from buying this bike. The old phrase "you get what you pay for" definitely applies here. It's a 'good' bike in many ways but disappoints in many others.
What you should know when you buy this bike:
-It's loud
-it's rickety sounding
-replace the tire tubes when you get it, they are thin and mine have all popped within the first few weeks.
-This bike is 1 speed, there are no gears so it feels like your peddling in 10th gear all the time, which is damn near impossible with a bike this heavy unless it's flat or downhill.
-if you lock up the tires the back chain tends to come loose making peddling impossible
-keep a wrench and screwdriver on you, i'm constantly adjusting and tightening
-tighten and watch the back fenders. they tend to move and then get caught up in the wheel. mine were almost torn off several times.
-the help/support number that is stuck all over the bike is someone's personal phone number.
-the battery i received seems to be a dud. the on/off switch doesn't work at all.
Basically, save your money and get a more expensive bike from a local bike shop. I ride this bike 20 miles a day and wish i had saved up and got something else. My coworkers all did and love their bikes.

What a ride!, July 2, 2008
This review is from: iZip 2008 Tricruiser Adult Electric Tricycle (24-Inch Wheels) (Sports)
Wow, the ride is great. I live in a very hilly area and the power takes me right up some pretty steep hills. I use it to shop, ride it to the drive-in window at fast food places, and ride just for fun around the neighborhood. Everyone gets such a kick out of seeing this new form of transportation.
I work at a school about 2 miles from my house and I will take this to work after summer vacation is over. I have had the bike for two weeks and use it 3-4 times a day. No telling how much gas I am saving. I am really pleased.
I had a little trouble putting it together. The owner's manual is for other bikes and scooters in the manufacturer's product line.
