Love the site, love this book, November 21, 2002

This review is from: Tried and True Quick and Easy (Paperback)
I've tried many of these recipes and have found all of them to be very easy as well as delicious. These are collected from the wonderful allrecipes.com website and are the highest rated recipes that can be prepared in 60 minutes or less. The site is the largest community based recipe book in the world and this is their third cookbook in the ever expanding 'tried and true' series. My wife and I use this book at least twice a week. It's great for those nights when you're scrambling to put a dinner together quickly.

The All Recipes Cookbooks are my absolute faves! This cookbook is so fast and one of those you can pick up and use when there's 40 minutes till supper and you're sure to find recipes with ingredients you keep around the house. Just a great cookbook and a great gift for a busy Mom like me! (My sister gave this to me last Christmas!) Thanks Sis and thanks All Recipes for another great cookbook (and great website too!)

One of my favorite cookbooks!, December 7, 2008
This review is from: Tried and True Quick and Easy (Paperback)
I use this book so much that the binding is falling apart! I'm a big fan of the site where this book was born, and even though one reviewer said that this book did not have all 5 star recipes, I don't think that there was a place in this book that stated it. It just said, "top recipes" or "best loved" recipes. Either way, every time I cook something from this book, it turns out great.
My favorites from this book are: Baked Potato Soup, (pg. 63) Patricia's Green Chile Soup, (pg.77) White Chili (pg. 79) Chicken Alfredo, (pg. 94) Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes, and Cream, (pg. 99) Chicken Enchiladas IV, (pg. 171) Cajun Style Burgers, (pg. 200) and Zucchini Patties (pg. 243)
You can tell from the names of my favorites, that this book is not filled completely with low-fat recipes. For those who are worried about keeping the calories down, there are also lower fat fare in many sections such as Salad, Fish, Vegetables, Vegetarian, etc. Each recipe has a comment from a reviewer that rated it highly. I have only started to make a handful of these recipes, but each one has turned out amazing!!
I can't recommend this book enough. Before I forget, I'm making my all time favorite recipe tonight, "Chuck's Macaroni and Cheese," (pg. 115) which is a fresh, casserole type, spin-off version of the boxed original using 3 kinds of cheese, sour cream, bread crumbs, and butter.
Buy it! You won't be disappointed!
