5.0 out of 5 stars Kid Brothers, June 8, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Tried + True (Audio CD)
Like many who have reviewed this CD, I only became aware of Tinfed as a result of their opening for our revered Psychedelic Furs on this spring's tour. They were the band that everyone talked and drank during awaiting the "real" band to take the stage. Somehow their talents got lost in the shuffle and like the kid brother, were never really given a chance to be heard on their own terms. After meeting the band after several shows, I felt I wanted to give their disc a shot and I haven't looked back. The CD is polished, engaging and depth that I regret I missed when I heard them on tour. Tried and True was a good addition to the breadth of my music collection and Furs fans should all give the "little group that could" a serious listen.

Just returned from seeing the Furs (AND TINFED) in Baltimore & D.C. WOW! Tinfed blew us away! They were great! Bought CD on the spot & haven't stopped listening yet! The whole band is extremely talented. Our personal favorite...ERIC STENMAN on the guitar! Check out their site too at tinfed.com! These guys are gonna be HUGE!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly surprised!, May 10, 2001
This review is from: Tried + True (Audio CD)
I usually don't like the opening bands...I am usually waiting impatiently for the main band to take the stage. But not in Tinfed's case! I was even hoping that their performance would last longer. I was mesmorized and amazed! The music is a cross between industrial and electronica. Rey Osborn's vocals are amazing. If anything else, go see these guys perform live. I was fortunate to just see them perform with the Psychedelic Furs. You will not be dissapointed. Great CD!

I saw these guys open for the Psychedelic Furs at the House of Blues in Chicago. Usually, I'm just biding my time and wishing the opening band would hurry up so I can see the headlining act. Not with this band. I was sorry that their set was so short! The next day I bought this CD, and played it straight through a couple of times. Though it doesn't capture the edginess of the live performance or the charisma of Rey Osburn's vocals (go see them live!), I'd highly recommend this CD. You won't be sorry!

5.0 out of 5 stars live is always better, March 6, 2001
By A Customer

i went to see orgy and spinshank 3/4/01 and we all know that opening bands usually are not that great. This time to my suprise the openers were just as good as the headliners. i met the band and they were little darlings they were so sincere that i just went and bought the cd you all should be ashamed that you do not own such a beautiful cd. get one or two or three, one for every cd player you own so you can keep on listening.

Where did these guys come from? I had never heard much of their stuff before, but I recently saw them in concert with Orgy and Spineshank. These guys sounded great. I actually met them after the show and they are a great bunch of guys who are really cool to their fans.

Imagine a dream where you go to the record store, and all that's playing is "the perfect music". It's flawless, and just fills you with a great amount of energy that's contagious. It convinces you that no other music exists. Buy Tinfed, Tried + True and make that dream a reality.

4.0 out of 5 stars I like the sound of this band..., December 11, 2000
This review is from: Tried + True (Audio CD)
I had never heard of this band, but i like the way they sound. A change of pace for myself, with this cd having a smooth nice sound...Very tight, I recommend it, but listen to some sounds before you dive in...This probably wont help, but it may incline you to give them a listen at least...
