I haven't had to "read" story dialog since the early days of the Zork I,II, III games. On the PS2 system this is absurd. There should be voice samples or some animation for the cutscences, no matter how horribly they manage to accomplish it. The first level was annoying and I'm on the second and I'm so frustrated I don't want to bother with the game anymore. Any game has some merit, and this one CAN be fun. There is not much aiming involved, you can do head shots if you are lucky. Ammo is pretty hard to come by. Game play is suprisingly ok. Some games like syphon filter(ps2 version) have horrible left analog stick aiming control, but this one performs well enough. Overall, besides frustrating, this game is alright it you get it very cheap, I'm talking under $5 with shipping.

This poor piece of trash was in the bargain bin where it should have stayed. The graphics are bad, the gameplay is bad, and I am bad for buying it. The only good part about this game is probably the cover art. Don't buy it at even less than 10 bucks because you'll be really sorry you did.

With the wealth of budget titles being released, you have to wonder if they are worth the usual $20 price tag. Sadly, with this game, a $10 price tag wouldn't help. Trigger Man comes to all platforms, and suffers the same fate equally well. Your a mob hitman, and the gang wars are about to begin. Sounds cool, right? In concept it is. But poor "execution" in all departments "kills" any chance of fun. I couldn't resist. Playstation 1 graphics, mixed with sub-par controls, ridiculous character animation and poor level design plague the entire game. No voice samples at all, period. Yup, you'll be reading the whole comedy, er, I mean story. Basically, a really low budget wanna-be Hitman knock-off, on it's best day. Gettin' rubbed out, would be more worth your time. To sum it up, "It's curtains for this game, see!"

I too fell victim to this game in the cutout bin for $1.99. I would gladly pay $1.99 to have the time back that it stole.
Where to start? It's a great premise, I thought! Like a mafia version of Hitman: Silent Assassin! Nope. The music is horrific and repetitive. Close range headshots don't always kill people. If they're NOT dead, get ready because they will bring so many more impossible-to-kill bots down on you, you have no chance. Seriously, you can shoot people 4-5 times at close range and they don't die. I played through the first level most of the way out of stubbornness. It takes place in a casino. This is one of those games where you have to memorize the movements of everyone by dying 15 times, like a very uninspired version of Metal Gear. After the 20th-30th repeat of trying to figure out all the movements of a group of police searching the casino so I could sneak past them, I took this POS to Gamestop and traded it in for Spy Hunter, which is a good game. Do not, for the love of all that is good, buy this game.

ONE OF THE WORST ACTION TITLES OF ALL TIME 2 OUT OF 10,

This game is such an abomination, not even my PS2 wanted to play it as it made strange whirring noises as it played the disc as if to say, "Why is this piece of crap inside of me? What did I ever do to you?" If the action genre was a living being, then Trigger Man would be the herpes of the action genre with its terrible gameplay and murderous difficulty. This game was only $2 when I found it in the bargain bin, but I'll tell you right now, this was the worst $2 investment I have ever made. There is no reason for a budget title to suck this much.
WHAT THE GAME IS: A third-person action title with lame puzzles tossed into the mix. You play as a guy known only as the "Trigger Man" and you do the dirty work for a mob boss and do what he tells you to do. There are eight missions of absolute hell to trek through thanks to the agonizing gameplay and insane difficulty. When the son of a rival mob boss is killed, it's up to the "Trigger Man" to kill the goons of the boss and protect the mob family you work for. An unoriginal plot for an unoriginal game. GRAPHICS: This game looks like a good-looking Nintendo 64 game. The textures are sloppy and the environments are somewhat bland. It would have looked fantastic on the N64, but this is not really acceptable on PS2. MUSIC: This area is pretty bad. The music either ranges from elevator music to bad porno soundtrack. This area sucks really bad and the music was never interesting to listen to (Thank God for my Ipod). SOUND: The weapons sound exactly the same, and this game's production values are so low they didn't even have voice-acting in this terrible game. Instead you get to read text boxes reminiscent of NES/SNES/Genesis/early PSone and N64 eras. Text boxes are not accepted on console games anymore. Yet another area the game fails miserably in. GAMEPLAY: This area is torture because of bad controls and an insane difficulty. Moving your character is like maneuvering a tank and aiming your weapon is a nightmare. Your enemies are tough to kill unless you nail them perfectly in the head, if you don't hit them in the head (Unless you have a shotgun or UZI), you will be shooting your enemies up to ten times before they finally die. Your health is cheap and you will die, A LOT. Sometimes just by entering a new section you can get mowed down within seconds. It will take you numerous tries just to get through certain sections of each stage. You will run into trouble just on the first stage because you have to sneak past police officers near the end of the level. Thanks to your terrible controls your enemies will have numerous instances in which they will have no trouble killing you. This game throws too many enemies at you at one time which will lead to a number of your unfair deaths. Also a number of questionable design choices such as the fact that there are almost no ammo pickups from enemies when you kill them, you have to find a box somewhere in the level and fill up your ammo from there. Trigger Man is without a doubt not only one of the most frustrating and infuriating games I've ever played, it was also awful enough to make my list of the ten worst games I've ever played. Crave Entertainment, for the love of God, stop trying to make religious and action titles, it's not working out at all. OVERALL: Stay the hell away from this game, it will only bring great pain, numerous F-bombs and screaming, and extreme anger if you dare play it. Not only is this one of the worst PS2 games ever, it's one of the worst action titles ever, and one of the worst games ever. A miserable game from start to finish. Perhaps if the developer (WNT Games) had tried harder we would have at least gotten a mediocre title (I would have settled for mediocrity after playing something this awful). THE GOOD: Good N64 graphics and a checkpoint system (Unlike Bad Boys: Miami Takedown, but Bad Boys was slightly better). THE BAD: The N64 graphics, the music, the story, the gameplay, the murderous difficulty, the numerous unfair deaths, no ammo pickups, and too many enemies.
