You'll see how a business woman used learning TRIGGERS and saved thousands of dollars a year for her firm.

IMPROVE YOUR PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE AND MASTER NEW SKILLS You'll discover nine TRIGGER techniques proven to stimulate peak performance and sharpen physical skills. You can use these techniques to master practically any new behavior you want, including social skills. You'll see how an actor used TRIGGERS to improve his on-stage performance ... how an engineer polished his social skills so he would feel comfortable with top management... how a golfer improved his game by practicing these easy-to-use mental techniques at home.

HELP HEAL ILLNESS AND MAINTAIN VIGOROUS HEALTH techniques combined with the improved mental imagery techniques you'll find in this guide can help you heal your body, prevent illness and prolong a healthy life. You'll read how Janice used these methods to combat a raging infection ... how John controlled his irritable colon through mental healing ... how Alice used health promoting imagery to avoid "burnout" from her high stress job.

RID YOURSELF OF A SELF-DEFEATING ATTITUDE Do you defeat yourself with a "I'll never do it" attitude or with negative ideas that have been implanted in you by others? With TRIGGERS you can sweep these negative messages away and replace them with winning ideas that will help you use your full potential. You'll see how Donna used TRIGGERS to stop dating "users who were losers"... how Bill used TRIGGERS that enabled him to show love and save his marriage.

REPLACE BAD HABITS WITH POSITIVE ACTION Bad habits like jealous rages, overeating, smoking, excessive drinking, anxiety, and anger will melt away when you use TRIGGER techniques to unmask the secret goal of the habit. These TRIGGER techniques will reprogram your mind to replace bad habits with positive action. Cigarette smoking and overeating become unnecessary ... and it's easy to go "cold turkey."

More About the Author

"One of the most exciting and dramatic breakthroughs in self-motivation techniques is the development of TRIGGERS - a mind programming, psychological system for acquiring new capabilities and talents. From totally erasing fears and phobias to healing illness and maintaining vigorous health to expanding your creativity up to five times...here is a simple self-help system that can help you fulfill your every goal and desire." - Prentice Hall editors.

Before writing Triggers, Stan Mann, DCSW, CPC, had been a certified psychiatric social worker, family therapist, transactional analyst, hypnotist, marriage counselor, and teacher for over 15 years at the VA mental health clinic in Allen Park, Michigan, and in private practice in Livonia, Michigan.

Thirteen years ago he became a certified business and life coach, helping business owners and top executives with 2-200 employees grow their business faster and have a balanced life.

A member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers, is also a clinical member of the International Association of Transactional Analysis, the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis and the Grow Training Institute for life and business coaches.

Stan lives with his wife of 54 years, Charlene, and their oversized Chihuahua, Pepper, in their beautiful home in Livonia. He enjoys looking out of his office window at the squirrels trying to defeat the baffle at the birdfeeder, the male pheasants shimmering their golden wings in the sunlight trying to attract their hens who pretend to be disinterested and an occasional deer nursing her young fawns.

Stan gives much of the credit for his success to the mind programming techniques described in his book. He hopes you enjoy reading it as much as he enjoyed writing it for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bottom Line on Stan Mann's Excellent Book - Triggers, June 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Triggers: A New Approach to Self-Motivation (Hardcover)
If you need a major breakthrough in an important area of your life, this book is a must read. If you read it, you'll try the techniques. If you try it, you'll get results.

Examples? Ok, here's just a couple:

Weight Maintenance - for years I have been on the old roller coaster - gain 20 pounds, lose 20 pounds, gain 30 pounds, etc.

We have a bridge group. One evening I started to reach for the peanuts - our host always has some kind of fattening goodies on the table. At the point of no return (you just can't have one handful), I remembered what I learned in Triggers. I DID NOT EAT A SINGLE PEANUT - NONE!!

I've maintained my weight since that evening two years ago, under a lot of tempting situations.

Peak Performance - you've probably read the books and listened to topics on how to pull up a peak performance anytime you want to. This was difficult for me.

Example: OK, I was preparing a speech of introduction for a nationally-known motivational speaker. My rule - no more than 2-3 minutes, if that. I knew I could do a good job, but good was not enough for me.

Once again, I used a technique from Triggers. The audience was pleased, the speaker appreciative and I was feeling great!

If you are committed to continuous improvement in your personal and/or your professional life, buy Triggers today.END

Thank you for writing the book Triggers. Thank you Thank you Thank you.

This book is what I have been searching for to help motivate myself. I have read a number of other self motivating books. They have not worked for me.

It is hard to get motivated to help yourself (through words of motivation by some else) if you are NOT MOTIVATED.

But Triggers takes a whole new approach. It's not about motivation through motivation, it's about reprogramming the way we motivate ourselves.

I am a stay at home mom with two kids. My house is always a mess, my kids are grumpy by the end of the day and losing the baby fat I gained, HA, NO TIME OR ENERGY.

I needed motivation to start reclaiming myself and my family. I am not done reading Triggers as of yet, though I can't put it down, and already my life has changed.

For example I tried the "Double Trigger" method to help me get motivated to clean my house. I am not kidding when I say it worked with in 30 minutes. I went from the sick feeling of having to clean my MESS of a house to completely cleaning my stove (top to bottom) and everything else that needed to be pickup, dusted, vacuumed or wiped down. Just 30 minutes after performing the "Double Trigger" method on my self.

Today is September 10, 2004 and this book was published in 1987. Almost twenty years later you are still helping people through this tough process of self motivation. All I can say is, "Stan you are the Mann!" Thank you, and I can not wait to finish this book and start living the way I want to live.

Sincerely,
Christy Mikesell

Coaching Is for Everyone: Learn How to Be Your Own Coach at Any Age
This is an EXTRAordinary book written in so that you almost hear the author speaking to you! Stan Mann takes all the heady stuff about self help and languages it so that you can make sense of it and quickly put it to use. His secrets are real gems and The Trigger technique is an anchor that truly works. His technique is effective and I can vouch for it after using it with thousands of clients as a coaching expert. Great book and a must read for all who are interested in self improvement and/or who help others in that field.
