Everything works as intended.

The companion apps are jam packed full of features, but definitely prefer using the device with an iOS phone.

The Triggertrap Mobile Dongle2 (MD-E3) arrived promptly. Triggertrap website has a very nice logic flow chart to walk you through the check out of the adapter cable and dongle. After checking out the adapter cable and dongle it was on to attaching them to a Canon T3i and iPhone4 with iOS 6.0.1 [Build 10A523]. At this point is when the problems began. The iPhone was unable to control the camera in "BULB" mode which was the next test in the setup. I contacted tech support by e-mail and received a reply rather quickly. Some suggestions for further tests were suggested with no luck, so after another couple of days of fiddling around with camera setting and no further help from tech support I have returned the cable and dongle. Not sure, and never will be, if the software / dongle / or what was the problem. Others have said they have gotten it working with the Android so maybe that is the way to go. I would say give it a try if you have the time to play around with it.

This app worked as intended. The ability to do Bulb Ramping (bramp) for day/night cycles was perfect.
It was easy and tethered to both my android phone and android tablet. I have not tried the apple product version.

I recommend this app.

Triggertrap mobile is a small device that gives users the ability to connect a smartphone to their DSLR camera. By doing so the user can control many aspects camera through the use of the smartphone hardware such as the microphone. It supports both iOS and Android systems and what makes it even better is that the companion app for both of these is free! (Apps: iOS | Android)

We have been testing Triggertrap with the Canon EOS 1000D connected to an iOS as well as Android device. This allowed us to trial the different features on each device as the functions currently available on both device are slightly different.

You can see from above that the Android app is missing a few of the features that its competitor has. Not only this but the Android app also looks dated and is definitely not as nice to use as it is on an Apple device. The iOS app has a really nice user interface that is extremely easy to use and can access ever feature within a few taps on the screen.

Does exactly as intended for my Canon 60D at a fraction of the price of the Canon unit that does the same thing

Claimed to be easy to use but it is far from that. About 50% of its features with its App just simply don't work with my Canon Digital Rebel xTi. Tried different cables and still not working.

The features that do work are still hard to understand and buggy.

Such a shame, I was truly excited about this product. Maybe better instructions would help or just an easier UI for the App

its kind of cool but id say a cheap intervolometer can do all of this for about 10 and longer than your iphone battery

Not too bad to use, but should really come with written instructions and a trouble shooting guide.
When using with a petax k10d the camera must be turned on after the cord is plugged in and app is running.

Great accessory for a Canon body. It also works on my Fuji EX-2. It is one of the easiest remotes to use and I like the ability to trigger it with my iPhone or iPad.
