5.0 out of 5 stars Something For Everyone
A must buy. The CD offers a sound and a song for every music lover. Each song has it's own unique ability to touch your soul with cutting lyrics and beats that will have you dancing. This new band is on their way to great things and this CD is only the beginning.

3.0 out of 5 stars If you like Friends and Family, Check out "Mazzy Star"
The music of the song is ripped off from Mazzy Star's "Five String Serenade". It is still a good song though, as good as a "sampling" effort gets.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT cd, blew away my expectations, December 30, 2002
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Trik Turner (Audio CD)
Trik Turner is the first band that convinced me to buy their cd because of their live show. I had only heard Friends And Family on the radio, and I didn't like it (I'm more of a fan of heavier stuff). So I pushed them back into my brain as another crappy wanna be rap band.

THEN I saw them at HFStival in Washington DC, and they blew me away. They have lots of high energy songs, great heavy stuff, and since I got the cd, i've even started liking Friends and Family. Give these guys a shot, and if they're ever touring around your area, check them out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Trik Turner, Finally a CD, with no holes in it!, April 8, 2002

Well, I gave this CD a 5 rating for lots of reasons but, the main one being I enjoyed the CD from start to finish. Most CD's have a few tracks that weaken the CD and you end up skippin over them every time. Not this one! Most people have a CD collection that they carry around and consider "must have's" whether it be for parties, road-trips, or whatever. This one is gonna be right up front in my CD case, well, not for awhile anyways since it has not left my player since I bought it over one month ago. Another reason this CD rocks is that each song has a different sound, as well as a different meaning or message. everytime I listen to the Cd I hear a new message and amazed at the lyrics these guys put together. Finally, a CD that talks about real life and issues that I can relate to. This album breaks down the typical rap/rock barrier. A group that they remind me of; well not how they sound but the audience they appeal to is the Beasty Boys, in that they create good music that can be enjoyed by people from all ages and walks of life.

If you hear anything bad on these guys that person has one of two things their dealing with: 1) lack of hearing. 2) lack of listening. Well worth the dough, go get it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Turner does the trick, May 19, 2002
This review is from: Trik Turner (Audio CD)
In short, this cd totally rocks. I bought it on the merits of the track, Friends And Family, when their debut was first released. I was impressed with the song, so I shelled out the $...and am extremely glad I did. The lyrical content runs the emotional gamut. The music is basic, straight-forward new rock, and the lead singer's voice is pleasant, not screaming but not Manilow, either. After listen to this disk, I come away feeling alright, not depressed or agitated. Trik Turner is like drinking double chocolate milk (provided you aren't lactose intolerant or aleric to chocolate): it's cool, goes down easy, and is an overall treat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yeah!!!, February 1, 2005

I think this band is just awesome. This album has some soft rock on it, but on the other hand it also has some rap/rock on it. My favourite song is definitely Friends & Family. It's a soft rock ballad and it has a very catchy tunes and great lyrics. I also liked Existence and Sacrifice very much. Other songs that I think are also great are Ish, New York Groove and Father.
This album is a great mix of rap and rock. In some songs rap is more dominant in others rock. So there's something for everyone. If you like music from Linkin Park, Papa Roach and Three Days Grace, and if you like Everlast's singing (the singer sounds just like him on Friends & Family), you'll like this one too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rockers and Hip-Hopers, July 17, 2004
This review is from: Trik Turner (Audio CD)
This is awesome work. Trik really put out some quality stuff with this. this music is a little of everything from the soft rock "friends and family" , "Im not like you" " to the rap/metal songs "new york groove" , "let it rip" and "ish". Every song on this album is great.....great for bumping in the car. Best song: New York Groove.

5.0 out of 5 stars Idiots..., May 27, 2004
This review is from: Trik Turner (Audio CD)
People should definitely do more investigating before buying an album. Friends and Family is definitely NOT the only good song on here. I've had this CD for years, and still love it. Rap rock is something not too tolerable for me anymore, but this album has creative beats, interesting lyrics and a fair dose of guitars. Every track kicks ass. This comes from a fan of metal, not hip hop. I usually listen to stuff like Emperor and Type O Negative.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not for rockers .., April 16, 2004
This review is from: Trik Turner (Audio CD)
why do i say this , cause hip hop lovers would understand and appreciate this more . This is smooth and ive read the lyrics , they are pretty decent . This band is ''just'', its not over done , too loud its just smooth and good .

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than I expected... by far, March 23, 2002

I really expected this album to be terrible after hearing "rap-rock" but a friend of mine had it and forced me to listen to it, and I loved it. I went out and bought it immediately. The usually annoying stereotype of rap-rock doesn't exist on this, the rapping is much closer to a rock type than bands such as Limp Bizkit. Triks Of The Trade, Father, and Let It Rip are the best songs in my opinion. Definitely a surpriser.
