Great Fun and A Great Work-Out,

I have been looking for something different, something fun, but also something that gives a great full-body work-out. I found it all in the Trikke, especially the T-78 Deluxe with its redesigned handlebars, all air tires, sporty great looks, and a nice color. I have had the Trikke for one week and I have used it every night - it is very addicting. It is not unusual for me to ride for several hours. There definitely is a learning curve. I spent the first 2 nights riding in front of my house trying to get the movements right to make it go. Although not hard to make it roll, there is some practice needed to make it go fast and fluid. However, regardless of my experience level, I still got a work-out. The video is of me on Day 3 - still learning and practicing. Since then my abilities have greatly increased and I am now riding all over the city and picking up real good speed on the flats. Uphill is still a little hard, but getting easier. I highly recommend the Trikke, especially the T78 Deluxe model. In my area, I must be either the only one or one of the few that owns a Trikke. As I ride around the city I consistently hear, "Nice Scooter", "What is That?", "That's Cool", "Can I ride It?", "Does That Really Work?!"- I just keep carving on as people stare in awe. Although it looks very graceful and natural once you get the hang of it, it is one great work-out. When I am done riding, I am always drenched in sweat, but it was fun. So if, like me, you hate the back and butt pain of bike-riding, don't like the impact of jogging or running, and want something different that is also fun... well the Trikke is the real deal and it really works. As to the delivery, I ordered through Amazon on the 26th and the distributor had it delivered to me on the 29th as a free standard delivery. So for me, Lifestyle Sports really delivered a great product and had it to me very quickly.

I purchased the other similar vehicle at "half the price" and had to send it back due missing parts, bad weld and overall poor quality. The other brand was such a disappointment, especially after waiting a month due to late delivery.
I purchased this one, got it out of the box and noted the significance in high quality. It came on time and I put it together in 10-min. I am 46 with bad knees and can not run anymore so this is one way I can keep up with my wife (a marathon runner) without provoking knee surgery. The riding motion is a bit awkward, similar to downhill snow skiing but works the core, legs and arms. Once you get use to it (10-15 min), its a lot fun. I look forward to short breaks where I can take it out (even for 5-min) and will be scootering with my kids and doing a longer ride this weekend. The T78-Deluxe (steel version) is only 2-lbs heavier than the T8-Air (aluminum) (25 vs 23 lbs), so at my level it is a better value. I would definitely buy this again.

Where to begin. OMG, I ordered my trikke T78 Deluxe a Monday, it was delivered on Friday that same week. Thank you Amazon for your prompt shipping.
All I had to do was snap on the front wheel, tighten a bolt. Then put on the handlebars (for that I did need some help, 'cause the instructions were for a model with different handlebars than the T78 Deluxe and I had never put handlebars previously on anything...ever). A call to Trikke Tech 15 minutes before their closing time, got me the clarifiction I needed. The handlebars were installed and the young man giving me tech support and I got off the phone with time to spare and he could leave work on time. Thank you Trikke Tech for helping this woman. Next I had to run over to a bicycle shop to get air in my tires, I did not have a tire pump with a pressure guage. I had this little gizmo for 2 full days before I got a chance to take it out for a test drive. The first time I had it out to ride it, I stood on it for a full 35 minutes unable to get it to move. I might add I was stubbornly refusing to "kick off". Here is a hint: DO NOT start out by trying to learn on an incline. Either find yourself a long, gentle downhill slope or a flat surface. Once I change locations, wah lah and eureka! With only about 20 minutes left I got to have some, allbeit slow-going, fun. But I discovered a "sweet spot" in creating forward momentum. I got to truly ride it for a bit more than an hour the following day.....what a great work out.....and I was exhilerated, hooked, and tired. It was great! The third ride I only had about 10 minutes...then two days of close to 20 minutes to ride. None of these were as good as the 2nd time I got to ride it. Now today my 5th ride.....I had 40 minutes. It was magic. I was able to go up some hills and all around my neighborhood (of course, strategically planning it so I was not going uphill the whole way). I rode for about 4 miles. This is such a hoot. I would heartily recommend the T78 Deluxe. Do your research, get a trikke that is size appropriate for you, be determined that if someone else can ride one of these, so can you! If you get a trikke and need assistance in getting it moving, there's all kinds of help online. If you know someone who rides one, it may help you get going faster than I did if you can at least watch them ride for a bit. The 3-wheeled platform gives the rider stability, the rubber tires are good for traction and give a soft ride. I am so glad I got a model with rubber tires! I was very tentative and thought about making this purchase for about a month or so before I bit the bullet. It has been a great purchase for me. I researched several other brands, I liked the way this company makes their 3-wheeled cambering vehicles. If you get one, I hope to see your review here, too. I look forward to reading about how much fun you are having on your trikke.

The Trikke I bought that I never saw,

I can not give a review on the Trikke I first ordered because I never received it!
One of the things the seller should have said is that they did not have the Trikke they were advertising! After I ordered the Trikke Pro Therapy then ordered it from another company. I waited a month for the Trikke after I was told it had been shipped, then I found out it never was shipped. Pro Therapy did not provide Amazon or I with a tracking number so we could track it. I have checked and see they are still allowed to advertise the same Trikke for sale. I'm so glad I ordered through Amazon because they took care of this problem for me. I ordered my second Trikke from another company and received it in four days. The second Trikke I ordered was easy to put together but learning to ride it is a bit harder. Every day gets better. It is not an item you can take out of the box and ride the first day like you see in the video provided. It reminds me of trying to learn to ride a two wheel bike for the very first time. It takes lots of practice and you must be patient... Be the first in your area to have one so you can help others.. I wish I had someone near to help me. I practiced after dark so no one could see me! Don't give up the first day!

Love my Trikke. It's in the garage ready to go when I am and much easier to throw in the car than a bike. Personally I think it's more fun. I skipped the poly wheels and ordered all air. Buy a little push air pump so you're ready when it arrives as tires need air. I happen to live where there are a few hills which is great fun. I look at walking it back up the hills as great exercise too. If you are a "closet case" grocery cart rider which I still am at 64! you'll love this.

I received my trikke and had my husband help me put it together. I have been riding it now for 2 weeks and in all honesty you must be patient as it is a learned skill to figure out how to make it move. Once you find your sweet spot as they call it, it's a lot of fun! Not sure how much winter riding I'll get done in the New england winter but can't wait for spring.

The Trikke is an innovative device that is somewhat like a scooter and a Ripstick. Forward motion is done via swerving left and right in a good rhythm. It gives quite a workout once you get the hang of it. The only complaint I have is the price which runs in the $300 range. I was able to get this Trikke at $74 cheaper than from the Vendor site thanks to Amazon. If you are looking for a new workout hobby, have extra money and would use it to get around then I recommend buying a Trikke, otherwise it's cheaper going with a Ripstick or Scooter or you could actually buy both for the price of a Trikke.

The trikke is perfect for exercising. It does take some time to learn how to ride and that can be frustrating. Just hang on as I am and one day soon I will be riding like an expert

Santa brought 2 of these for my kids, 12 and 10, and they could not wait to get outside to give them a try. I insisted that they watch the instructional video first......critical as the 'power stroke' is unusual. They are incredibly well made! Once riding, they both had a little trouble combining the turn, tilt, and leg push together to make them go. We made a couple of trips back inside to watch the video again, and it started to click! My son, who usually picks these things very quickly was a little frustrated so he wanted me to give it a try......to show me just how hard it really is. I am 6'4", 210lbs but a good athlete.....basketball, skiing, motorcycling, etc. Anyway, I jumped on and in less than 5mins found myself in the 'sweet spot' as he says in the video! I could not maintain that 'sweet spot' for more than 10-15 turns, but it was LOTs of fun and I could easily see where I could get very into riding one too. The motion is like motorcycling + skiing + skating......I just loved it! I workout daily, and this looks like a GREAT option for a whole body workout. We live in an area with lots of small rolling hills and though I am not ready to tackle them just yet I really like the upper body exercise potential of the Trikke. I will be ordering one for myself!
If you are patient, and able to combine the 3 parts of the power-stroke, anyone can do this.......it is not a matter of strength, but certainly does require a precise 'coordination' that when put together provides an awesome feeling unlike any other. |
