5.0 out of 5 stars Sash build on his previous hits in his best work to date.
Having enjoyed about half the tracks on "It's My Life", I was not entirely convinced prior to purchasing "Trilenium", but since listening to it I haven't been able to put it down! Great albumn, each track a hit - I love it! Probably one of my favourite albumns ever. For those of you that aren't familiar with Sash, the style of the albumn is fairly...

2.0 out of 5 stars A terrible disappointment
I was really looking forward for this album, but I was greatly disappointed. It appears that the music of Sash! only deteriorates with time. Their first album, "It's My Life" was excellent -- pure euro-house enjoyment. It was so great that I have bought it again after my previous copy was stolen. "Life Goes On" was not as good, but still a pretty...

Great albumn, each track a hit - I love it! Probably one of my favourite albumns ever. For those of you that aren't familiar with Sash, the style of the albumn is fairly commercial techno, though he pack's quite a lot of variety into one CD. Even if you thought "It's My Life" was so-so, this albumn is worth getting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super album by a super star, July 12, 2000

Hi,

I have always been of Sash's many hit singles (Ecudor, Mysterious Times, Adelante, among others) but never got into any of his albums.

I was aware of Sash's new album "Trilenium" and decided to poke around and see what others thought. With the other reviews here at Amazon, I was hopeful of a good album after "Adelante" was released. After listening to samples of the album, I was impressed.

Now after buying the album, I have to say, it is a nearly MUST buy for any fan of Sash. But the album also aims for a wider spectrum. Fans of Sash's old material will like the tracks Adelante and Destination Unknown (mainly instrumental tracks).

Fans of EuroDance/HiNRG tracks will appreciate Show Me The Right Way and Together Again (vocal tracks with Sash instruments).

Fans of Mysterious Times singer Tina Cousins will love "Just Around the Hill", a decidedly "un-Sash" like downbeat song (but great nonetheless). If you're interested in faster beats, the single is always available!

Fans of US House Style Music, might like the title track "Trilenium".

All in all, a album full of flavor. I am sure Sash fans in Europe will enjoy it. I hope US fans will buy it and pass the word on to others. Sash deserves a chance in the US to succeed and perhaps this album will help him!

4.0 out of 5 stars Sash! matures, May 29, 2000

No mention of Life in this third title. From "It's My Life" to "Life Goes On"... this title should have been called "I finally have a life". No, seriously.. I loved the past two CD's, but I must admit to having to be in a particular mood. Even then, the latter half of "Life Goes On" seems to dive. Somewhat of a mid-life crisis. I have listened to Trilenium once, and I am impressed with what I have heard. Many more of the tracks have vocals; less of them repetitive that past tracks. "Adelante" has already rocketed to the top of the charts in Australia. I suspect "Just Around the Hill" will be released. It isn't hit material, but an awesome track in its own right. Other notable tracks include the up-beat "Tell Me Now" and the easily listening "Together Again". I'll give it another listen and it might even earn 5 stars from me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another SASH hit, June 26, 2000

The new album by SASH! is out. Highly anticipated release from this artist is truly a gem. Your waiting is handsomely rewarded. 14 tracks recorded in various shades of TRANCE and TECHNO are breathtaking. Most of the music is written by Sascha Lappesen (SASH! himself), Thomas Alison and Ralf Kappener. Right from the beginning album takes to the cosmic world of SASH! The synthesizers strings are plain incredible and beat is just out of space. Truly a top notch dance track to die for. This wonderful EURO-TRANCE fare gradually progresses like in high action movie. For more TECHNO sound if you will, try "Trilenium", the title song. Great beat and synth line in this one. Dramatic NRG sound mixed with GOSPEL is in "Halleluja". SASH! also gives himself for EURO fans, his "Together Again" is a masterpiece of EURODANCE.Of course "Adelante" is in here as well in it's extended chilling version. The album is closing with AFTER HOURS track "Chill Out No.1". This one features flutes, sound of natures etc. Perfect finish to calm you down after your dance experience. Truly a release not to be missed. I probably need no further to convince you of the album's outstanding value. SASH! again proves that he is a leading artist in electronic dance scene. Enjoy the sound and run for it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just awesome!, June 14, 2000

Sash has done it again! This album is a must-have for any Sash lover; No collection is complete without it. You can listen to this CD from start to finish and still want more. My personal favorites are "Just around the hill", "Adelante" and "Rock the block". This CD is everything one would expect from Sash: Upbeat & original. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

5.0 out of 5 stars God on a keyboard!, June 20, 2000
This review is from: Trilenium (Audio CD)
This is an fantastic album. The order of the tracks is outstanding! The album begins with 'Rock The Block' - a combination of trance, dance and techno all put togther and this track basically sums up the whole album. I strongly recommened this and I Guarantee no disppointment if you choose this! Tina Cousins has returned with the track 'Just Around The Hill' and there is no better song that suited her. Hre vocals are excellent and the rhythm and pace is just right.

To purchase this album would complete your collection!

2.0 out of 5 stars A terrible disappointment, September 12, 2000
This review is from: Trilenium (Audio CD)
I was really looking forward for this album, but I was greatly disappointed. It appears that the music of Sash! only deteriorates with time. Their first album, "It's My Life" was excellent -- pure euro-house enjoyment. It was so great that I have bought it again after my previous copy was stolen. "Life Goes On" was not as good, but still a pretty good album. "Trillennium", simply put, is a disaster.

While in previous albums Sash! were sticking to their unique pure house / euro-house / techno sound, Trillennium is a mish-mash of different styles, and unfortunately not all of which are performed well by Sash!. "My Kind of Blues", for instance, is a horrible attempt at hip-hop / drum-n-bass music; why they chose to share with us this poor attempt is beyond my knowledge. "Chill Out No. 1" is a bunch of relatively "quiet" samples that were stacked together and mixed, creating a boring "background noise" track.

The "Trillennium" CD that I got does not contain the 2 "extra bonus" tracks, so I was probably expected to be content with a quiet pop-ballad version of "Just Around the Hill" they put in. The track isn't really that bad, actually, but it's not the kind of music I expect to get when I buy an album by Sash!, especially when the version that gets air-played is entirely different. If I wanted such music I would get an album from another artist. I think that the quiet version should have been marked as a "bonus track", and not the other way around.

The other tracks that do stick to the old Sash! style sound mostly dull, faint, tired and recycled (or just bad). The sparks and originality that were felt in past tracks are simply nonexistent in this album. This makes the listener quickly grow tired of the music, even of the better tracks in this album. So while I could listen to Sash!'s greatest album ("It's My Life") over and over again (encore une fois, indeed...), I could barely listen to this one for the second time, trying not to quickly skip tracks as I listen.

Bottom line -- it seems Sash! have finally converted to a commercial album making machine, sacrificing all shreds of originality they have left to follow current trends in the music industry, and to sell another album. If I had known the nature of this album prior to buying it, I wouldn't have done so. I'd recommend to everybody the first and second albums, but it seems I am not able to recommend on this one as well. I give this album 2.5 stars out of 5.
