Blanket does not get warm enough to make it better than any good quality regular blanket. Also, It gave off an unpleasant odor, a fuel like smell.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my specific needs, February 16, 2006

My boyfriend got me this blanket for Christmas because he was tired of either sweating or listening to me shiver every time we take a winter ride in the car. We own a small car and since he is bigger than me and usually driving, the heat seems to hit him much more directly. This resulted in a constant heat-up, heat-down battle that was only resolved with the purchase of this blanket. I didn't have any of the odor or fragility issues that some of the other reviewers did, so maybe I just got lucky but for now, we can leave the heat off or on low so that my boyfriend doesn't cook while I stay toasty warm underneath the blanket. Even though I have a fairly unique situation, this heated throw provided the perfect solution.

3.0 out of 5 stars so far, so good, January 26, 2004

I bought this for transporting a large musical instrument over long drives in the winter. So far it seems to have worked. My gripes so far are: 1. small. at least for the instrument. I got a second one, but for most folks using this for the "regular" reasons, it should be ok. A little larger would still be nice though. 2. the plug fell apart. I was able to reassemble it, but it shouldn't have twisted apart on the third use. 3. no temp control. It would be nice for the ability to set it on different temps, but this one heats to one temp only. It isn't too hot or anything, but sometimes I'd like to be able to regulate it more. 4. it heats quicker when it is folded up. When it isn't, it may take a long time.

Overall, it seems to be a good purchase. Time will tell and I may need to update this, but it is pretty good.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for travel, January 15, 2007

This blanket has been great for our winter travels. The only downside is that it cannot be machine washed. Didn't think to check that before buying. It is great for the family mini van.

Nice, thick fuzzy blanket with built-in 12 volt electric warmer and auto-shutoff timer. I've used this on a May RV trip up to Alaska and the Yukon and never got cold, even when it was freezing outside. I just wish it was a little longer. Other than that, a great product.

My wife uses this in the car when we're on the road for awhile. I like to keep it between 68-70 degrees; she prefers a balmy 80. With this, we can both be happy! Also, not a bad thing to have in the car in the event you're stranded.

It would be nice if this came in other colors besides navy.

3.0 out of 5 stars to small for a twin size bed but does the job, January 8, 2009

I am a truck driver and because of the new idling laws i needed a way to keep warm. this blanket gets very warm very fast and seems to keep the warmth after turning it off. But it wares the battery down in my truck quickly. I repetitively had to get up in my freezing truck in the middle of the nite to turn on the truck to get warm once again. also the size is to small for a twin bed either my feet or chest got cold. this got very annoying unless you sleep curled up this will annoy you as well.

We bought these March 2005 for the kids to keep warm when first entering our cold vehicle in Colorado winters. The timer is a great feature especially if you have it plugged into an UN-switched power outlet. So far, they've been great. Cleaning is the only issue. No machine washing. Spot cleaning works fine though and everyone is still happy. Keep in mind that these are child size or maybe the leg area of an adult.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heated 12v TWI 1000N Heated Throw, January 21, 2008

I use this throw in my RV when dry camping both in bed and over my legs at night while lounging. I slip it under the top sheet so it covers my lower body and feet. I turn it on as I get in bed and it warms my frozen feet and legs.
It turns itself off after 30 or 45 minutes so I don't have to worry about falling asleep and killing my batteries.
I liked it so well I gave it to a friend and now I have to buy another one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Warmth and comfort go moble, January 19, 2008
This review is from: Trillium Worldwide 12-Volt Heated Travel Blanket (Automotive)

This blanket is a great addition for the colder months on the road. It's like having your own heat control in your vehicle. The automatic turn-off feature is great when your arms are loaded with presents for the holidays or just day to day with groceries. Even without plugging it in, the blanket can take off the chill of an Autumn evening drive.
