5.0 out of 5 stars Some of Russia's best..
In this trilogy of well known ballet pieces some of Russia's best ballet dancers perform in regal and elegant fashion.I would recommend this trilogy to any avid ballet fan and to dancer's who wish to watch Bolshoi Ballet execute their technique at their highest level of performance. 3.0 out of 5 stars Cinemagraphics lacking unfortunately
Maybe my expectations were too high, but I was hoping for 3 dvds were visually appealing, as well as great listening. The music is pleasing and the dance technique is unquestionable; BUT, the video quality leads me to believe that these were shot decades ago and just put on to dvd in 2004. This review is from: Trilogy of Ballet - Nutcracker, Giselle, Romeo and Juliet / Bessmertnova, Lavrovsky, Pavlova, Gordeyev, Bolshoi Ballet (DVD)
In this trilogy of well known ballet pieces some of Russia's best ballet dancers perform in regal and elegant fashion.I would recommend this trilogy to any avid ballet fan and to dancer's who wish to watch Bolshoi Ballet execute their technique at their highest level of performance. It is interesting to note the stylistic differences in all 3 of the productions when compared to American Ballet performances. The end summation Bolshoi Ballet entertains and delivers with both their stage apititude and overall execution of 3 well loved and infamous ballet classics.
