Well, I guess I'll go ahead and be the first to write a review of this Brand X release. This 3 CD set features two Brand X releases from the 1990's. The first being "X Communication" from 1992, and the second 1996's "Manifest Destiny". Both are great CDs from a stripped-down lineup including Goodsall, Jones and the highly competent drumming of Frank Katz. The third disc is a live recording from September 27, 1979 in New York city. A terrific live set with a classic line-up including Phil Collins. Great music and some entertaining stage banter as well. Not up there with the first five Brand X releases, but a great set, and well worth the price.

3 cds- 2 studio and one live- Manifest Destiny and Xcommunication now led by original members Percy Jones and John Goodsall with new recruit super drummer Frank Katz. Comparing these two albums with their earlier outputs in the 70's is unfair but see them at a 90's perspective would surely be more acceptable. Gone are the adventures of Robin Lumley, Morris Pert and Phil Collins enter the tandem of Jones-Goodsall of heavy metal prog Brit fusion that only Brand x sound carries. Goodsall's scorching, trail blazing guitars, pumping pound per pound bass of Jones and savage Katz drumming would render your next door neighbor deaf. These albums are perfect for noise war with pop jazz cocktail lounge lovers. The last cd live in NYC 1979 includes all the original members plus some hilarious stage commentary by Collins and his merry men. Most of the tracks are from Product which they are promoting at the concert. The used section offers a reasonable price at $22. If you are a Brand x fan who craves for even their sound check this is the album for you it has both the early and recent offerings of this unique jazz rock outfit from the UK.
