5.0 out of 5 stars The return of The African Fetish Doll and three new stories
Lysette Anthony plays three roles in three new stories. The first story is "The Graveyard Rats". It runs 29 minutes. An old, wealthy buzzard wants to destroy this man's career. His wife insists until the wealthy old man (her husband) shows her the erotic videotape of her having sex with the other man. So when she discovers she is still in the Last Will and Testament,...

I watched this last night for the first time, directly after the original. I was expecting so much more, and got so little. 5.0 out of 5 stars The return of The African Fetish Doll and three new stories, April 22, 2003
This review is from: Trilogy of Terror 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Lysette Anthony plays three roles in three new stories. The first story is "The Graveyard Rats". It runs 29 minutes. An old, wealthy buzzard wants to destroy this man's career. His wife insists until the wealthy old man (her husband) shows her the erotic videotape of her having sex with the other man. So when she discovers she is still in the Last Will and Testament, she and her other lover try to kill her husband. Will it work? Who will have the last laugh? Story #2 is , "Bobby". It runs 26 minutes. A thunderstorm is headed into the bay. A woman uses chalk to draw a bewitching symbol on the floor in her house. She casts a spell to have her dead son return to her in the living. Later that night, as the sea churns and the thunderstorm goes wild, she hears a rap on the front door downstairs. "Mommy, please let me in". Her son has returned, shivering in the wet cold. Will she regret the spell she has made? Story #3 is, "He Who Kills".It runs 31 minutes. This is a sequel to the original story we first saw in the first TERROR OF TRILOGY (1975), minus actress, Karen Black. The story continues surrounding the horrid murders and the Male African Fetish Doll.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the few truly scary horrors', March 23, 2006

This is honestly the scariest movie I have ever seen and I am a huge horror fan.
The first story is great but its "creepy" and not so much scary.
The second, "Bobby" is the reason you should purchase. I saw this movie for the first time about 6 years ago and to this day I cannot watch "Bobby" alone.
The ast story is creppy but the first time you see it you will laugh.

As I said before, you NEED to see "Bobby".
This is my favoite horror movie and I highly reccomend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fright flick!, August 27, 2001
This review is from: Trilogy of Terror 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I haven't yet seen the first one,but this one's just great!I think it was made for the USA network but I missed it,I guess.I eagerly bought this for 2 reasons:Dan Curtis and Lysette Anthony!Dan is a master at television horror, the creator of DARK SHADOWS and his tv DRACULA rocks.Lysette is the gorgeous actress who played Angelique in the DARK SHADOWS revival mini-series.Anyway,the 3 stories on here are top notch.Dan Curtis filmed BOBBY before in the TV anthology movie DEAD OF NIGHT.But that was 1977,so it was good seeing a remake using the same script and Lysette!I enjoyed this spooky movie a lot!

I watched this last night for the first time, directly after the original. I was expecting so much more, and got so little. The first story was ok, not even half as good as the opening in the original. It had some cheesy graphics though. The second story, although it didn't make any sense and came off to an extremely bad start, was by far the best and most suspenseful segment. It was one of the few worthwhile parts of this movie. The third segment, a sequel/remake of the story AMELIA from the original, came off to a boring start, but once that little zuni doll came to life, the fun started to roll. I was disappointed however, that the ending was a complete reworking of the original story. That was lame and showed that the filmmakers couldnt come up with anything original. it was fun to watch the little doll run though. He's the funniest thing on earth! If compared to the original, this movie is lame and stupid, but fun. If u have nothing to compare it to, you'll like it more.

3.0 out of 5 stars Funny, July 10, 2000
This review is from: Trilogy of Terror 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I don't think my friends will ever forgive me for renting this one. The first story was just ridiculous a story about giant rats in a graveyard. The rats look like styrofoam. The second story is better about a woman who ressurects what she thinks is her son. The third and best is the second Zuni fetish doll story you will have some fun with this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great movie for any horror fan, December 13, 2003

This review is from: Trilogy of Terror 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Trilogy of Terror 2 is a great flick. In "The Graveyard Rats", a money hungry wife, Laura, and her cousin, Ben, decide to kill Laura's wealthy husband. After a while, they go to a bar and a man named Mr. Stubbs runs into Laura. Mr. Stubbs explains to Laura that he'll be burying her husband and he'll be buried in the old south yard. Mr. Stubbs said he wouldn't advise that because of the rats. He says, "These aren't just a few rats. There's thousands of them down there. Big ones too. Some as big as a dog." He seems to be exaggerating the situation by saying the coffin won't last 2 minutes down there and suggesing a all-steel coffin because the rats will chew through the origanal one. But Mr. Stubbs insists it's the gospel truth. After Laura learns there's nothing left in the will, her and Ben are angered. She explains to Ben that her husband's company is a hollow shell and he's been draining it for years, and the real estate that is worth 700 million, is codes into numbers in a strip of microfilm. After a while they come to realize the microfilm is in the coffin. They go to the graveyard and find Mr. Stubbs attempting to rob the coffin. Ben kills him and finds the microfilm in the coffin. Laura then all of a sudden, shoots Ben. Laura then finds her husband's body is moving out of the coffin and into the ground. The microfilm that's in an antique gold watch go's with the body. There's tunnels running all over the place and Laura is in a war with the rats. She gets the watch with the microfilm and finds her way back. She spots the coffin but to her horror the coffin is sealed shut. Instead of crawling to safety, she crawls into her grave. She actually crawled into the wrong coffin because at the end you can hear her screams coming from another grave. And you can see her husbands coffin, open and empty. In "Bobby" a mother resurects her drowned son. At first she is thrilled then Bobby asks a lot of questions like "was I alway's a good boy, did you love me, and were you nice to me?" When he ask's "were you nice to me" bobby's mother asks "Why all these questions?" Bobby asks again in a bad attitude. When his mom gives him the sandwich like he asked for, he politely said he didn't want it. his mom says "but it's your favorite, you said--" bobby then says meanfully "I DON'T WANT IT!!!" he wants to play hide and seek, but his mom says it's late and says they'll get up early to play but again Bobby says in a bad attitude "I wan't to play a game NOW!!!" while he knocks over a glass of milk and breaks it. Throughout the story Bobby breaks a mirror, makes the lights go out, breaks the glass in the car with a sledgehammer, and fools his mom by playing his dad on the phone. When she picks it up, she is scared to death and terrified. She explains to Bobby (which she thinks it's her husband on the phone) that he's losing his mind, he pushed a plant off the balcony on top of her, and he's running around the house in the dark. Bobby repeats everything she says: "HE JUST PUSHED IT DOWN ON TOP OF ME!!! "pushed it down?" "HE'S RUNNING AROUND IN THE DARK!!!" "in the dark?" "HE INSISTS ON PLAYING SOME GAMES!!!" "playing some games?" When she asks why he's repeating everything she say's, he again repeats that and starts laughing maniacly. The voice go's from her husband's voice to Bobby's voice. To her horror, the phone cord is cut. At the end, bobby say's his mom lied and that bobby didn't drown by accident, he drowned himself to get away from her, and he didn't want to come back. he says "Bobby didn't want to come back, so he sent ME instead." It then go's from bobby to a SCARY LOOKING monster. it's a mask but is is spooky. In "he who kills" Dr. Simpson is trying to identify the zuni fetish doll. she's scraping the burnt material off the doll as a security guard says they just ordered pizza. She go's down to eat and the doll comes alive and graps the knife she used to scrape the burnt surface. She comes back to find the doll and knife missing. the security guard investingats and is killed by the doll. Dr. Simpson is searching around the place for her keys to get out as she's being chased by the doll. She manages to drown the doll in sulferic acid. The doll is eaten away and seems to be dead. Dr. Simpson opens the lid and screams. Dr. Simpson's husband shows up and everything seems to be fine. He presses the door to the elevator and when the door opens it's the zuni doll in Dr. Simpson's body. The doll gives her his creepy teeth, wild hair, and shrieking yells. VERY SURPRISING ENDING!

I don't think this movie was supposed to be a comedy, but this is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I first saw it when my friend rented it and we watched it. The first story was so funny, and the rats were so cheesy. The second story was a little bit more serious, but yet still had a comedic edge to it. What the hell were they thinking with that mask at the end? The little Indian doll brought me to my knees in laughter. The thing running around and screaming was really funny, but the girl was so stupid. She would get it trapped, and then she would go and see if it was dead. So messed up, this movie, but the best I've seen in years. Truly amazing. I give it 5 stars.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nothing Special, But An OK Rehash-Sequel, May 17, 2011
This review is from: Trilogy of Terror 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I remember when this debuted on USA network way back when. I liked it then, but no so much now being a bit older. I think the main problem is these are original tales from Dan Curtis and not Richard Matheson adaptations. They really lack the pacing of those stories and it shows badly with random shocks here and there, too much exposition during the action (always a bad sign) and cheesy dialogue. The original was also predictable, but was atleast exciting. Here, the opening has an outrageously cranky old basterd, but nothing else except a cheesy romance and really bad looking giant rats. The second tale was a little hard to follow but was easily the best and most suspenseful. The last, a requel of the Zuni doll tale from the 1st, gets good when the doll is loose, but disappoints as it rehashes the ending almost to a tee. Don't fix what ain't broke I suppose?

This is quite frankly the best movie I've ever seen. Not scary wise, because it definately is not not NOT scary AT ALL, but it's just hilarious! My friend and I used to rent this every time we were together and fast forward through the rat story, and then just watch Bobby and the one about the Zulu Doll. "He pushed it on top of MEEEEEEEE" and "YAYAYAYAYYAYA!!" were two of the most commonly-used quotes in our friendship from the day we first saw it. If you want a good laugh, rent it and watch the last two. I own the DVD!
