This product is well constructed & very solid.

Only the rubber padded insides of the sheet metal clamp arms indenting into the tire sidewalls was holding the thing on.

Re-reading the other consumers' reviews, I must have been shipped a "boot" way different than what was shipped to them.

I have a heavy-duty 14K pound trailer that I wanted to add another later of security to, so I purchased this item through Amazon because it had received such good reviews!

Immediately out of the box, the thing looked flimsy. Made from tack welded pieces of sheet metal. (I was expecting some hefty solid steel at least for the "arms" of the device.)

I figured I would try to install it anyway to see if it would work.

The arms were too narrow and too shallow to fit over and around my 16" tires and rims! Only the glued on rubber tips of the arms were touching the outtermost portion of the rim lip. Only the rubber padded insides of the sheet metal clamp arms indenting into the tire sidewalls was holding the thing on. The bolt-on (nut and washers missing by the way. Luckily, I had spares laying around.) "cone" was also made of the same thin-gauge sheet metal. After attaching it to the contraption, it WAS centered over my hub (yay!) only to discover the hub protrudes to far (about three inches or so) holding the darn thing far enough and wobbly enough to get a lug nut spanner onto the lug nuts to take them off.

Then, after I have the thing all tightened down and the clamp cover locked, my seven year old walks up with a screw driver and pops the clamp mechanism cover open! And then starts trying to turn the "super-secure" triangle shaped clamping bolt head loose! The same one by the way that is fully exposed for the "hub cover" clamp. You know, the one that didn't cover my lug nuts in the first place?

Needless to say, I will be testing Amazon's return policy on this device as well!

I had also bought this company's keyed alike combo kit and returned it as well. Just not happy with the quality of this company's merchandise.

Unless of course I got shipped the wrong item...?

Initially this lock fit good and it kept the trailer secure. But after a few months the adjustable arm wouldn't lock down as tight. Now the mechanism in the arm has failed completely because the triangle screw that you fit the handle into fell out of the adjustable arm and it cannot be secured to the wheel anymore. Also, the lock looks significantly weathered and rust is visible on several joints and on screw heads. I have since replaced this cheaply made Trimax lock with a heavy duty wheel lock.

the first time i put Trimax TWL100 on my boat trailer the mechanism in the arm has failed completely because the triangle screw that you fit the handle into fell out of the adjustable arm and it cannot be secured to the wheel anymore, the company failed to answer or give me any help on this matter, i do not recomend this unit.

Two Locks? A crank to attach? Need three hands to try to attach plus it didn't fit trailer rim/tire. Went with a Brahma lock - far better design, stores flat, one key, can put on VERY easily in seconds and it fit.

This looks like a good product but it is very cheaply made. Very thin metal and lightly welded together. Locks are OK but the doors that cover the screw clamp screws can be pried open enough to release the pins. Don't waste your money.

As adverstised and works, but is not commercial grade. Steel gage is lighter than I had hoped for. Two more words required

Warning: Be careful before purchasing the Trimax TWL100 Ultra-Max Adjustable Wheel Lock. The manufacturer does not warn you that it must be used with a flat surfaced wheel. My hubcaps prohibit the use of this wheel lock because it will not fit or fit securely. I have read other reviews that said this newer style lock does not work as well as the older version, but I can't testify to that since I have not been able to use it.

Works well and provides a visible deterent. However, the clamp did minor damage to my trailers steel wheels despite the rubber padding. I used a few shop rags for added protection. I would not place this device on my Chevy Tahoes alloy wheels w/o exercising extreme caution. If there was a little more rubber padding on the clamp I would have had no issue. The plate which covers the lug nuts is key. It works well give an advantage over other locks which leave the lugs exposed. Overall a good product for the money.
