Product Description

This drum is made by Trinidad and Tobago Instruments. The range of the Mini Pan C is C5 to F6, with a total of 11 notes in the scale of C. The drum has an 11 1/2" diameter, 3" skirt, and is made of new steel explicitly specified for a steelpan. Tuning is to A-440. Standard paint color is a red skirt with black playing service.

This drum comes with a stand, sticks, and instructional song book.

We got this as a gift for my dad, he loves steele drum bands. When we found this we were very excited, it arrived impressively fast. We were surprised at how small it is and it is very delicately balanced on the stand. I realize it may have been intended for display only but we were under the impression that it was to learn how to play. My father likes it and since we don't have $600 or more for a big one it worked out fine.

I love the sound of steel drums and have wanted to purchase one for quite some time. After having children, I saw one of these in one of the catalogs for children's toys and was surprised it was so inexpensive. Large steel drums can cost in the thousands, so 100 bucks seemed like a bargain. And it is. The pan hangs from a nice wooden stand, and although you only have about 11 notes, it is still fun. We consider it a good addition to our collection of instruments for our children to learn from.
