Love it, Love them all!, May 9, 2008
This review is from: Trinity Blood - Reborn on the Mars Volume 2: The Iblis (Trinity Blood Novels) (v. 2) (Paperback)
I fell in love with the movies, but found myself pretty disappointed with the manga. Then the books started coming out. I have read them all, and love them. Will buy all the rest. The only thing is that they are sometimes a bit darker than the anime, so I would caution parents to know what your child can handle before purchasing these books.

TRINITY BLOOD: ROM 2, August 10, 2008
This review is from: Trinity Blood - Reborn on the Mars Volume 2: The Iblis (Trinity Blood Novels) (v. 2) (Paperback)
TRINITY BLOOD: REBORN ON MARS NO. 2 - THE IBLIS
The Iblis - (anime episodes 12-14) This is book is an expanded and more detailed version of the story.
The Queen's Summer - A renegade priest stole software from the Vatican is arrested by Sister Esther Blanchett and Father Abel Nightroad.
The Visitor's Revenge - Father Tres Equis finds a Methuselah assassin in the Vatican's Carthage embassy. Cardinal Caterina Sforza, who is on a good will tour has a nighttime visitor (Ion Fortuna.)
The Heretic's Flame - This story demonstrates that international politics in the 31st century are just as complicated and messy as they are in the 21st century. Spaniard Antonio Borgia suggests Cardinal Francesco de Medici sent the Inquisition fleet to Carthage to protect Caterina. Reluctantly, Caterina agrees. (Two points: Historically, the Borgia family originated in Spain and moved to Italy. Contemporary references refer to them as "the Spaniards". Point two: Caterina wants to establish diplomatic relations with the Empire not only for peace purposes, but to deal with criminals who leave the empire to escape punishment or vice versa.)
The battle between Petro and Abel is more detailed and impressive than in the anime. The actual battle would have taken five minutes of screen time.
The Criminal's Mark and The Angel of the Burring Sands - Abel's value as an AX agent shows more when he works alone. The battle between he and Radu is more dramatic and impressive than the anime battle. St. Elissa, patron saint of Carthage along with Lilth developed the Iblis, a desert cyclone to destroy Carthage if it was captured by the Methuselah. Her tomb is either under the Vatican embassy or under the cathedral next door. Abel has to sneak into the control center via underground tunnels. He learns he needs Esther's help to stop the Iblis.
Brother Petro must work with Father Tres to regain control over the Inquisition battleship Requel which has been captured by Radu. Despite his desire to kill Ion and arrest Abel and the rest of AX, he feels honor bound to wait to a later time to punish "the traitors."
The Empire's Visitor - Ion Fortuna completes his mission to meet with Caterina. Arrangements are made for his return home.
One other point: If Trinity Blood is ever turned into a live action series, I hope the character of Esther Blanchett is follows the manga or novel version. Esther in the books is a stronger, more viable character than the anime version. Then again, Abel plays the fool, but not the buffoon he plays in the anime. Then again, the anime had limited time and episodes to work with. And, I have always been a greater fan of the book version of movies and tv stories.

Great Read, October 12, 2008
This review is from: Trinity Blood - Reborn on the Mars Volume 2: The Iblis (Trinity Blood Novels) (v. 2) (Paperback)
I loved this book. It had a nice amount of detail, good pictures and some fun adventures. I enjoyed this volume more than the past ones. I can only hope that the next book will be as good, if not better.
