5.0 out of 5 stars The Trinity of Health
Carmen Harra's Trinity of Health is written with sensitive understanding and allows one to appreciate the nature of all that is good. I felt a profound sense of peace when I realized I could be the master of my own destiny. It was as though I had been searching for this very skillfully crafted book to get me back on the path of spirituality and practicality. How...

1.0 out of 5 stars Simplistic & Not Well-Written
I thought this book was simplistic and not well-written. First of all, it has not one, not two, but three introductions. The first introduction was written by a MD who said "If you enter a bookstore, it is difficult to find a book about us the way we are. It is especially difficult to find a book that offers real and intelligent solutions." Has he ever been in a...

Carmen Harra, a clinical psychologist, metaphysician and author of three books, is also a TV personality, motivational speaker, singer and radio host on www.Healthylife.net. Carmen lives in New York and Florida with her family. Learn more about Carmen at www.CarmenHarra.com

The Trinity of Health is a self help guide that includes 10 chapters. It consists of two parts: Part One focuses on spiritual values; it offers readers an analysis of the seven guiding principles and motivates them to incorporate these values into their daily life. Part Two is about nutrition. Specifically, it is all about smart nutrition and how people can eat healthily and joyfully. There is reference to the Greek diet on page 31, why the Mediterranean diet is better than other diets, and tips on how to avoid fatty foods and stick to healthy foods. `Moderation in all things' is the secret, Carmen says on page 41, and this is a wise section. Further on, on page 103, the topic is about self esteem. Loving and changing yourself in order to have a good carma are quite interesting to read. Carmen makes reference to organic foods on page 114, thus urging readers to switch to healthier alternatives. At the back of the book there is a Bibliography section.

This book is a valuable guide for everyone interested in their well-being. Once the readers get the required knowledge, they can change their lifestyle and values. Carmen's book is well-written, simple and clear to read. I love the letter font; it is relaxing for the eyes and obviously it caters to people at an older age, without restricting a younger audience though. This guide inspires and urges people to change, so it is an invaluable tool in the reader's hands. As Carmen says, the secret of good life is balance, which sounds simple but it is difficult to have.' Therefore, balance your life with Carmen's new book! Get it from

5.0 out of 5 stars I can highly recommend this book !, November 7, 2007

This review is from: The Trinity of Health (Paperback)
This is yet another beautiful book by Dr. Carmen Harra, where she combines three aspects in her writings: 1. her passion to empower people and strengthen their faith in themselves, 2. her profound intuitive knowing which guides her writings and messages, and 3. her wide spectrum of factual and experiential knowledge, and the ability to lay open the "bigger picture" by showing how separate disciplines of expertise are all intertwined.
The book is beautifully structured, very well written, and absolutely worth reading. As Dr. Harra touches for example onto areas of expertise such as nutrition, where she does have profound understanding, but no academic credentials on the subject, she assured the validation of everything she wrote, by involving a professional nutritionist in the writing of her book. This only adds to Dr. Harra's credibility and professionalism !
In everything Dr. Harra does, the books she writes, the radio shows she hosts, and the counseling she offers, she combines the "metaphysical" or intuitive insights she has with profound factual knowledge and science. This makes her approach so unique and so valuable to her readers and listeners. Dr. Harra's approach seeks to awaken one's "inner knowledge" that is present in all, yet so often lays dormant. She does so in her own unique approach, it happens without really noticing that its happening. Indeed, one walks away feeling a new inner sense of "judgment" and "discernment" has been activated; one that views every action one takes as part of the totality: from the food we eat, to the words we say, to the thoughts we think, to the energy we radiate outwards - it all is part of the whole, and influences positive or negative outcomes in ones life.
The book outlines a inter-connected pathway of 7 very intuitive principles, which puts intention and "inner knowing" at its center. It does so in an effortless way, is complete in its approach, yet deliberately written in an easy-to-read format. In each of the chapters the reader experiences a new aspect of himself; one is never "told" anything, but "shown" by cause-and-effect, and without even knowing its happening, one feels empowered at the end of the book, awakened to the "knowing" that with such mindful living, one has substantial control over living a joyful life.
Those who have read Dr. Harra's autobiography know, that she herself is living proof of applying her principles to her own life, and turning adverse circumstances around to create the life she wanted to create. All her life Dr. Harra has dedicated herself toward being a source of positive, empowering, and uplifting energy to others and in this world in general.
I say - Kudos Dr. Harra, you have done it again !!

1.0 out of 5 stars Simplistic & Not Well-Written, November 2, 2007

This review is from: The Trinity of Health (Paperback)
I thought this book was simplistic and not well-written. First of all, it has not one, not two, but three introductions. The first introduction was written by a MD who said "If you enter a bookstore, it is difficult to find a book about us the way we are. It is especially difficult to find a book that offers real and intelligent solutions." Has he ever been in a bookstore? The author makes statements such as "Awareness comes when we contemplate ourselves more deeply", "Break-fast...breakfast is literally breaking the fast", "The world we live in is full of color. We are colorful people and we should eat colorful things" and so on. The book has 10 chapters. Each chapter is devoted to a principle for wholeness followed by a list of things to do to implement it. Like breathing to implement awareness. I bought this book because I was intrigued by Harra's concept of our bodies and food as our link to Mother Nature. I think it's going to take another writer to flesh out this concept.
