Symphonic metal masterpiece, June 6, 2000
Swedish symphonic metal act Majestic have released their second full length release titled "Trinity Overture". Those familiar with the work of Symphony X will immediately find themselves experiencing a sense of deja vu as the similarity in both style and sound hit the listener between the eyes. However, it would be too simplistic to catergorise them as simply a clone. There are also very definite links to artists such as Stratovarius, Yngwie Malmsteen, Royal Hunt and Nation in that they make great use of classical influences in their music. When I say this I am not simply referring to the current trend of using a symphonic sound to mask what is essentially three chord rubbish. The classical influence is evident in the whole theme of the composition. "Trinity Overture" has a great overall sound with strong production values. There is without doubt a great deal of talent possessed by the individual band members which shines through. The vocals are very strong along with the prominent presence of keyboards in the guise of songwriter and virtuoso Richard Andersson. This is an excellent album from beginning to end with a great deal of consistency right the way through. You will not find yourself constantly skipping tracks. If you are a fan of the above named artists, I would definately give this CD a try.

Neoclassical metal project featuring Richard Andersson and Apollo Papathanasio, January 16, 2011
"Majestic" is a Swedish neoclassical metal band and "Trinity overture" is their second album originally released in 2000. "Majestic", the brain child of keyboardist Richard Andersson was to be the first in a list of three musical outfits the musician would come to form, the other two being "Space odyssey" and "Time Requiem".
The line up features beyond Andersson, lead singer Apollo Papathanasio ("Firewind", "Evil Masquerade"), guitarist Magnus Nordh, bassist Martin Wezowski and drummer Peter Wildoer. For the biggest part, "Trinity Overture" is keyboard driven neoclassical metal with emphasis on vocals. For that matter guitars are rather complementary, mostly reserved to rhythm parts (although occasionally contributing melodic lines and a number of solos) while the rhythm section is upbeat, still not particularly aggressive. Clearly Andersson, having composed the entire album, is the instrumental protagonist of "Majestic" with the rest of the band following on the melodies that his keyboards lay, still it has to adressed that he has placed emphasis on composing appropriate and rather memorable choruses that mostly suit Apollo's voice, standing as the album's strongest characteristic.
The album also benefits from a clear production, prioritizing the melodic aspects of "Majestic's" sound which perhaps takes away a fair amount of attack from the perfromances while also making the album more conventient audio-wise. Favorite tracks include "Voodoo Tresure", "The rapture of Canaan", "Confusicus" and "Trinity overture".

a neo-classical classic, May 18, 2004
Richard Andersson suprised the prog metal community with brilliant melodies on this neo-classical prog metal thriller. Giants such as Symphony X, Jens Johansson, and Yngwie Malmsteen come to mind while listening to this CD. Richard has moved on now to put together a new band called Time Requiem, which is equally brilliant in scope and execution and two date has already released two studio CDs and a live recording.
