Forget this as a speed controller for the Magic Wand. It is designed for power tools, and works poorly with the vibrator. Get yourself a plug in lamp dimmer switch (available at Amazon Lutron TT-300H-WH Electronics Plug-In Lamp Dimmer, White) and save some money.

I've been using the pulg in lamp dimmer switch for months, with no problems, and it's infinitely variable.

Don't waste money on this. Go to the hardware store and get a dimmer-plug for under $10 instead.

The wand runs low on power through this device and the adjustment latitude is narrow. I'll keep it for the Dremel tool though.

This is a re-labeled speed control for a wood router or other shop motor, capable of controlling a 15 amp (1800w) electric motor. Aside from the Trinity Vibes label, it actually appears identical to the router speed controller sold by Harbor Freight. The Speedster Fan Speed Control And it is the same price that HF sells it for. Plug a drill or a router into it, and it works just fine. Brushless-motor fans work, but they hum audibly at lower speeds.

The problem is, the Hitachi Magic Wand is 0.15 amp (20w) motor. This means, with the speed control all the way up, plugging the Hitachi into it on variable speed loses 15%-20% of the Hitachi's high speed, and a TINY turn of the dial takes the Hitachi down WAY below its low speed.

It's not a bad product - it is just totally unsuitable for the advertised use.

The variable speed controller works very good. The Hitachi Magic Wand massager works ok by itself. After using it a while I was thinking that not only is having only 2 speeds lame but, the lo speed sometimes is too lo and the hi speed is almost always too hi. With the speed controller you always have the perfect speed.

This item is technically functional and it works as advertised. However, the power cord is quite heavy and stiff. It is difficult to manage. Also, the receptacle where the massager cord plugs into the speed controller is very tight. It was hard to insert the massager plug and I had to use a screwdriver to pry the plug out when I tried to remove the cord for storage.

Skip this. As mentioned in another review when you plug anything into this controller it reduces the power of the item you plug in. (this means if you have something at full power and plug it into the controller and then set the controller on max power you will only get 90% power). This should not work like this.

Also, as mentioned in another review the sensitivity for adjusting the power is very small. You can see in the picture the dial which has settings for low, medium and high (different colors on the controller). Well, anything in low and medium won't transfer any power at all to run anything. That means you just have the high setting to adjust power. And while the knob turns all the way around you have to turn the knob 270 degrees to start something, and then if you turn it just a fraction more you are at max power (only 90% as described before). That means you have to be very, very sensitive with your turning. This is entirely unacceptable as you can never get a setting between barely on and maximum.

As previous reviewers have mentioned the Hitachi Wand or other wands for that matter have two problems short cords and only two speeds. Add this item to that and now my wife's favorite toy has a long cord and multiple speeds....I can honestly WORTH the $$$

FYI read reviews on this item before I purchased and I bought that dimmer other reviewer had mentioned and it sucks!!

My gf has a wand and for a long time she would have to choose between slow and fast, which frustrated her. I went ahead and bought this for her and she has loves her wand even more now that she has more than 2 speeds. It has worked great and is a MUST for any wand owner.

As a lady who adores her WAND, I decided to purchase this based on reviews of the wand regarding its being limited by "two discreet speeds." I love the WAND as it is, and use it that way often. But love it MORE with the variable speed controller. It extends it's usage possiblies regarding areas your are targeting, and also the range of vibratory stimulation and ability to "tease" with it. It always delivers for me, with or without a partner. You can always detach it from the variable controlled if you want that MAX SPEED. I like the lower speeds for F/Play.
