The second 'Elegiac Trio' of Reachmaninov is, perhaps, his greatest 'unknown' work and is here performed as it should be, with passion and understanding. The sound (recorded in 1976) will not surprise collectors familiar with Russian recordings of the era, but is not so raw as many of the orchestral discs of that time. The total comitment to the idiom and its message are clear from the start of this remarkable music. Don't miss out on the opportunity to hear it at this give-away price.
