I absolutely agree with the other Amazon reviewer "A Music Man From NY". This is a wonderful album full of rare bossa nova tracks from mostly the late 60's and early 70's. Although not every single song was outstanding, there were a couple of songs which made this album worth buying alone. The two that stand out in my mind are: "Ao Amigo Tom" by Claudette Soares (featuring the great Os Cariocas and Som Tres) and "Helena and I" by Mario Castro-Neves. It's taken me years to find both those RARE tracks!!! "Ao Amigo Tom" is a nice tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim (aka "Tom" as he is known in Brasil). Since Tom spent many years in the United States, this song is a tribute to how much the Brazilians miss him and want him to return home. "Helena and I" is a song that Mario Castro-Neves wrote about his wife and it is a lounge classic. Also another VERY difficult piece to find! If not for anything else, those two tracks are definitely worth checking out, even though the rest of the album is also pretty good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Brazilian Compilation of Rare Tracks, December 2, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Trip to Brazil V.2 (Audio CD)
Incredible, one of the best compilations of Brazilian music issued - a true classic in every sense of the word. Volume 2 is a continuation of Volume 1 - a musical journey that depicts the rich evolution of Brazilian music during and after the bossa era. A tasty batch of rare tracks illustrate the wide range of styles that emerged during the late 60s and 1970s. Great.
