Excellent and uniquely beautiful album, May 12, 2010

I've been a Xiren fan for a long time, and this honest, sophisticated album is without a doubt his best release to date. Not too many bands have the ability to blend heavy guitars and synths with easy listening sounds as well as he does. The album offers a wide variety of positive messages and sonic motion. Different parts of the CD are unique, but it never loses its spirit as a complex album with a positive message of love. Melodically, this is different from most other rock, as he emphasizes sustained high notes with mastery.
The haunting beauty of "Places Everyone" makes it one of my favorites. It's soft and beautiful, and so powerful at the same time. "Insane" is another amazing soft track. On the other hand, "Money Machine" is harder hitting, and has a positive lyrical message. Bleeding hearts will resonate with the bitterness and romance of "Burn your Love Down" and "Big Enough (Ship of Fools)" while my mind appreciates the strange uniqueness of "Jesus was an Alien." Few other rockers are as forthcoming with their lyrics as he is. I strongly recommend this album to any fan of Irish-American rock, alternative, or adult contemporary music.
